On the Lighter Side of Things

My Robotron scores are creeping up every day now. This one puts me among the top 6 scores that have been recorded since 1984 for Marathon Mode (see my previous blogs for an explanation of the potential issues surrounding scores posted prior to 1985).  Next goal = 10 million points. It should take me about 2 1/2 hours to get a score that high one a single game. Need to stock up on Red Bull I guess.

Focus, Purpose and Some Folks I Really Admire

Over the past few days, while this site has been down, I have had some time to think about what I should cover in my next blog. Lately, I have been a bit erratic and all over the place, both in my personal life and on these pages, bouncing around from activity to activity and topic to topic, taking a shotgun approach to life.

Protectionist Vs Networking - What Type of Community Do You Want to Call Home?

As some of you may know, I wear a myriad of hats, both here at 2old2play and in my "real life", where I serve as the Outreach Specialist for a major outdoor retailer, run a vintage gaming store and participate in a wide range of outdoor activities such as kayaking and snowboarding. As a result of my varied interests, I find myself straddling two worlds that often seem diametrically opposed to one another, the Online Video Game Community and the Outdoor Industry.

1,000,000+ Point Game on Robotron - Video

Here is the video of my 1,010, 825 point game (in two parts to fit onto Youtube) on Robotron from last night. Like a bonehead, I accidently tossed the first minute of the tape, so I won't be able to submit this for an official score. However, I plan to keep improving so no worries.

Robotron Milestone

Tonight I hit a major milestone in my quest to set a World Record on Robotron by breaking the 1,000,000 point mark. I will be submitting this score to Twin Galaxies (www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx ) to be added to leader boards for this game. This score (if accepted, and I have no reason to doubt it will be accepted) will place me in 19th in the rankings. Not bad considering I have only had the game in full working condition for a few weeks. I plan to keep practicing. So stay tuned.

Whip It Q&A Part III & IV

Here are Parts III & IV of the Whip It post-screening Q&A with Drew Barrymore that took place in Boston on Wednesday. I must extend my apologies for the extreme close-up of my ugly mugg in Part IV. You can blame all flaws in camerawork on my lovely girlfriend, who for some unknown reason, thought people would rather become intimate with my nasal pores than gaze upon Ms. Barrymore as I asked my question. Obviously, love is blind.
