In an effort to reconnect with my local friends in the gaming hobby (both console and coin-op) I will be hosting one of my classic video game gatherings at my house this Friday, November 20th. We will have a collection of home console and coin-op enthusiasts on hand with gear for sale and trade. This event will also include a "cap-kit/repair" session for those of us who like to work on the coin-op and modding side of things. The grill will be fired up and the beer will flow. Today was a wake up call for me. This past year has been pretty rough for my girl and me. In response, I have been taking on more and more and yet seemingly getting less and less done. Staying up late on the computer and not really putting in enough quality time for myself or with my girl. Well, today, for the first time in many months, I was able to get to the ocean and spend some time kayak surfing. Due to some car problems earlier in the day, I didn't get to the beach until almost 3:30 and missed most of my paddling buddies who had been out since 11 am or so.

So a few of my fellow NE coin-op collectors and I hit up another warehouse in our area. I picked up a few items and then took some pics for some of my friends who plan to go back later. Currently, I have no more room for additional cabs in our place, unless I fix up and get rid of one or my girl allows me to put her Ms. Pac-Man in our bedroom.

The Video Game Orchestra will be playing at the Berklee Performance Center here in Boston on Saturday, December 5th. A group of local PAX'ers and representatives from Penny Arcade will be attending this event in preparation for the PAX_EC event in March. So my girl and I went to check out Dana Fuchs with some friends last night at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA. If anyone has seen the movie "Across the Universe" then you will know Dana as Sadie from that movie. Well, just like in the movie, Dana wails and puts on an amazing show. She is one of the best live performers I have ever seen. She played close to three hours to what was sadly much less than a packed house. Despite the small crowd, this woman gave it everything she had and then some.
