I got my $4 million in credits this morning via Forza Rewards. I likely will buy the Mazda 787 race car tonight. I likely will use the forthcoming free car of choice to get an IndyCar.
My Forza fire died over a year ago, but it has been rekindled by Forza 5. I cannot get enough of this game.

That doesn't say much. I am ungodly slow in Forza, but I still enjoy it. I am much faster with the Cadillac CTS race car and NASCAR oval cars and truck in iRacing.

Oldschool, rather than wasting time talking trash about my lackluster Forza driving skills, maybe you should be looking for an Xbox One, so that you can join the party?
I really wish there was some check box or notification next to a car in the store to let you know you've bought it. I have no need to buy more than one version of a car, and it seems ripe for accidentally re-buying cars. So weird and annoying. Honestly I wish I could filter out all cars I already own.

The feature you are describing has been in every Forza game until this point...Forza 3 would even tell you how many duplicates you already had and forced you to acknowledge before proceeding with another duplicate purchase.

Understood man. The only reason I was able to swing the Xbox One now is because I traded in many bankers boxes of video game stuff that was gathering dust. Otherwise, I would have had to hold off until next year.
Not as much as FM4. Hell I've had gripes since FM2 had in MP lobby tuning and FM3 did away with it.
Now if you are racing single player you have to back out of career mode to make any tune adjustments. FM4 I could adjust tunes just before hitting the START RACE tab.
Auction House / Store Front might be in the game. Coming soon is on a tab.
Drivatar's are brain dead. Making single player weak.
I haven't been able to MP race with any freinds yet. I tried setting up a private room, but couldn't find the invite option. ?? Maybe I'm just lost in this new dashboard. The public multiplay I have tried wasn't bad at all. Of course there are jacka$$'s that ram you because that is the only way they can keep up with the pack. You do have the option to kick them.
My suggestion for tuning your cars.
1. Simillar to FM4.
2. I find the springs and sway bars need to be turned way down from stock. Stock tires really slip. Sport tires show quite an improvement. Race tires really show improved grip. FM4 didn't have big improvements as you upgraded tires.
3. Warning - Bone stock cars (B class and below) don't handle !! Must upgrade to tunable springs unless you are a much better driver than me.
No where near enough tracks. I hope DLC brings them, but the price better not hurt.

PS: I'm not looking for any exotic tunes, just some regular car tunes such as the GMC truck and a few others.

Parcells, try the game at a local store, if possible, or at a friend's house. Like you, I was concerned that I would not like the game because of what they left out of it. But, I nonetheless gave it a shot and am so glad I did. It is definitely a different experience than the prior Forza games, in some ways bad, but also in some ways good.

That really had/has nothing to do with it for me. I was out the minute I knew my $1000.00 racing rig was not combatible to FM5. If that wasn't the case I'm pretty sure I'd be a day one purchaser and THEN I'd be on here bitching about all the stuff they left out :)
I am loving the game, despite its shortcomings. I am level 19 and cannot get enough of it. One aspect that I really like is how the top end cars are closer to reality. The F1 car is X999 and is easily the fastest car in the game, just like in real life. The IndyCars are close behind, but slower. The P cars, such as the Mazda 787 are a definite step below, again just like real life. The career mode is rich, largely because I get to race all of you!!! I like the freedom in the career mode once you get past the first five races. I can race whatever series I want, so long as I own the car. I like that they did away with the locking of higher level series. I love the option for applying a community paint as soon as you buy a car. It took me a while to figure out how to keep the car with the stock paint, but now that I have figured that out, I am good to go. Upgrades and tuning are optional, not mandatory, to achieve success in the single player racing.
When I get my free car of choice within the next week or two, I plan to get an IndyCar.

Most of us only play multiplayer only, like literally only multilayer. If they removed all of the single player stuff but have us the tools to do our own thing I would have the x1 Sat under my tv now. It's the reason why I love Forza 4 so much. It's not a game but a tool for me to use my imagination and convert that on to the track, then hopefully some of you guys come along with the ride

No Saving of Replays - This is also a must if you are running an event. What happens if someone has an issue or gets punted of. There is nothing to look at
