Stages

An era has come to end; the era of me being on Atkins.  The reason I went on such a drastic diet was because my blood sugar had gotten too high and I had become borderline diabetic.  My doctor had put me on metformin towards the end of last year, and being that my family history is quite full of diabetes this scared me.  A lot.

Blog-light

I went ahead and got the Windows phone yesterday.  AT&T has a nice plan where calls to any cell on any plan are always free, plus they offered free phones so I added my son to my plan and got him his first smart phone.  I like it so far, it is a little light in settings features compared to the iphone but overall I like the product and functionality better.  The biggest negative is the custom ringtone issue.  The ringtones available on the phone blow so you really need custom ringtones, but there's none to be had.  Tank was kind enough to link me to a blog about how to create ringtones

Windows Phone

I think I've about had enough of my iphone.  I bought it in February of '10 and had to have it replaced within the first week because it just stopped working.  No bars for cell, internet wouldn't work, it was a paperweight.  I took it back to the AT&T store I bought it at and was told I would have to drive all the way out to the Apple store to have it looked at.  Um, no...I bought it at your store 5 days ago and I think maybe you should just give me a new one.  Its not like I was asking for my money back or trying to get out of my contract, I just wanted a phone that worked.  Then they

L.A. Meh

I know the following opinion is going to be very contrarian to the popular one, and being that those types of opinions don't seem to be generally well received I'll just post it here.

Meat Coma

My son and I went to Chama Gaucha this weekend, which is a local Brazilian steakhouse.  I guess these have been becoming popular for some time now, but being that I'm pop-culture handicapped I had only first heard about them earlier in the year when some of the guys I worked with were talking about going there for Valentine's Day with their wives.  The thing that had put me off going was the price. When its all said and done, provided you don't hit the bar, its about $50 per person. Forget it, the $50 is a steal.

Nice Beaver

I've officially abandoned my quest for the perfect Temple Guardian build in Sacred 2.  Its a utility class and quite obviously not meant to be soloed with, and I'd almost say its broken except the cooldown times on some of your key abilities tell me that this was quite intentional.  Oh well.  I'm working on a High Elf based on a build that I found on the Dark Matters forums, although I modified it a bit to fit my playstyle.  One of  these days I will get a toon to level 200.  I may be 200 years old before it happens, but it will happen.
