SQUIRREL!

First off I apologize for putting up another blog while my last one is still up in the header, but I'm on a deadline here people! Deadline! Plus it doesn't seem like as many people blog here lately which is a shame, I usually enjoy a lot of the blogs here.

Looks like the gout crisis has passed without much issue. There's slight residual pain in the foot (as there usually is at the end) but overall its good. I went out and bought some naproxen sodium (also known as Alleve lol) and that helped a ton, so thanks for the recommendation 'bama!

Can't spell "gout" without the OW

Trying to fight off an onset of gout right now.  Not that there's much you can do about it (I don't think) but I try to take some ibuprofen and walk around a bit (I get it in my foot) and that seems to help sometimes.  I take allopurinal every morning anyway, but with being on Atkins I kind of set myself up for it more than normal.  I've discovered that by increasing the amount of fat in my diet it offsets the high protein and usually keeps the pain away.  I found this Kraft sandwich shop spicy mayo thats totally badass.  It like 12g of fat per teaspoon and nothing else at all.  No carbs, n

Welcome Home

Got a repair guy coming out today to look at the couch. February of '10 I bought some new furniture and I had saved up to do it right, or least what I thought was right. I got a what looked to be a nice reclining couch from L-Az-Boy (from here out referred to as LAB) and since they had a sale going I bought a recliner as well. Being LAB it was a bit pricey even with the sale, but I figured it would be worth it in the longrun. Wrong.

Hell yeah

I've gotten nowhere with the Kinect situation.  Sort of fell asleep sometime yesterday evening, don't remember when.  One drawback to Atkins is what is referred to as the "Atkins flu".  Because you're not taking in any significant amount of carbs (less than 20g per day) your body tends to get tired, which leads to me falling asleep without warning.  To be honest when this first started I thought the thyroid had crashed again, since the feeling is almost identical.  But since my labs have been spot-on with my T levels thats not the case.  Did some research online and discovered this was not

Connecting Kinect

The velcro/tape idea actually would have worked if not for one issue: space.  The tv now sits out a full foot further (I <3 alliteration!...make that a full fucking foot further!) from the wall than the old set.  Its also exactly 1" thick which is leading to some balance concerns, but pretty sure that could be shored up with a bit of tape.  The main issue with that setup is the space, as I have just about 7' of play space with the kinect on top of the set.

Need a little help

The tv got delivered earlier than promised (YES!) and fuck, its massive. Almost too big for the tiny living room I have. Almost. ;) Looks like a frigging movie screen in scale to everything else. Setup was easy enough, I just now dug out a cable to hook it up to the 'net so I'll be doing that in a bit. Picture is sweet, any apprehension I had over this purchase is gone.
