Windows Phone

I think I've about had enough of my iphone.  I bought it in February of '10 and had to have it replaced within the first week because it just stopped working.  No bars for cell, internet wouldn't work, it was a paperweight.  I took it back to the AT&T store I bought it at and was told I would have to drive all the way out to the Apple store to have it looked at.  Um, no...I bought it at your store 5 days ago and I think maybe you should just give me a new one.  Its not like I was asking for my money back or trying to get out of my contract, I just wanted a phone that worked.  Then they offered to do it but only if I paid a $20 restocking fee.  Nah, that doesn't work either.  Why penalize me because the phone doesn't work?  So after talking to the district manager she immediately agreed to replace the phone free and that was that.

After a couple months I started having crashes and other odd problems, so I called Apple support to get some help.  Whoops!  I didn't pay for the extended coverage so they wouldn't even talk to me on the phone.  Really?  And then after about a year the battery started to diminish, which happens.  But all of a sudden in the last month or so it drains about 10% power/hour in standby mode, if I actually use it I'm charging it sometimes 3 times a day.  Forget it, I'm done.

So I've been looking at the Windows phones and think I'm going to upgrade.  Having my 360 stuff integrated into the phone makes sense, and I have a Zune so perhaps I can use some of the content for that on the phone.  Plus I called the AT&T store and was told I could just roll my iphone contract into this one, although I'd have to sign up for a full 2 years.  Point is there'd be no penalty on the contract I'm in now so that works for me.

I went to the casino boat yesterday morning, don't think I'll be going again any time soon.  I was actually doing well playing Carribean stud poker.  I got there when they first opened the table a little after 10 and within 25 minutes I was up about $80.  The dealer was pretty cool and she and I were chit-chatting as we played.  I was feeling it, it was one of those things were every play I made worked and I was looking good.  I even played 2 tip hands for the dealer (won her $30), things were going that good.  Keep in mind I was on the $5 table, so its not like I was going to walk out of there a part owner or anything.  So after 25 minutes, in what I consider to be a complete dick move by the pit boss, they fucking changed dealers on me.  I know they rotate dealers, thats not a big deal.  But after 25 minutes?  And this chick was ice cold.  There were 2 other guys playing at the table and the one guy left after about 5 hands.  10 minutes later the other guy left.  And she wasn't even that pleasant, she had this creepy forced smile.

Being stubborn I stuck around about 20 minutes more until I lost the $80 I was up plus another $40.  That was enough, I took my chips and took a walk.  I waited around hoping they'd change dealers again but no way, an hour later she was still at the table.  Thats why  think it was a dick move by the casino because to me it seemed they made the switch to break the luck.  The other guy playing while the first dealer was there was doing well too.  So I won't be going back there, thats for sure.

Hump day, lets jam.  Ever hear of Evan's Blue?  True story:  their new singer is my friend's nephew.  He's pretty talented and I guess is pretty active in their songwriting now. To be honest I was never really aware of them before, but since I've gotten to listening to them I enjoy their stuff.  And for the record, I like my buddy's nephew better than I liked the old singer.  :)
