I’m going to start blogging about indie games and lesser known games that I’ve found hopefully to inspire some people to check them out and maybe breaking that gaming funk a few of us seem to be in. I’m not sure how often I’ll put up a suggestions (about once a week seems to make sense to me – give you a chance to check out the suggested game.

Terraria (PC – coming to XBOX and PS3 in the next few months apparently).

Tonight 2Old2Shoot will be running it's weekly Clan night.  We'll be playing private games of Black Ops 2 all night long.  Sticks and Stones or LMGs only on Nuketown is a friggin blast.   We'll even try to squeeze in some of the new maps.   If you're interested in hopping on for a few games, send Gunny, MNVikesfan or me a message and we'll get you in.  We'll most likely be running two rooms and we'd like to fill both up.

 I've played the first four hours of the Aliens: Colonial Marines single player campaign and it hasn't quite grown on me yet. The narrative is fine ,the sound effects are spot on, and the voice acting is actually pretty good...Gearbox even brought back Michael Biehn and Lance Henricksen to reprise their Aliens movie roles. That being said, the alien animation is kind of jerky and it was hard to adapt to the button layout: your loadout consists of two primary weapons which you alternate with the y-button, and a side arm, which you alternate to from the D-pad.

I've been looking for a new laptop for a while.  I have taken a shine to the ultrabooks, MacBook Air, etc... and decided that would be my next machine.  I like tablets just fine, but sometimes, a more robust environment is needed.  I was not interested in the least when the Surface RT released, as I see RT as just another IOS.  In that paradigm, RT has no benefit over IOS, and the Surface RT would be a poor choice over the iPad, given the breadth of apps available.

Lent seems like a do-over for New Year’s resolutions except you only have to keep it up for 46 days.

Are games showing and telling too much?  I think so.

Jesse Schell, Puzzle Clubhouse Creator and CEO of Schell Games gives his keynote speech at the 2013 D.I.C.E. SUMMIT. Titled "The Secret Mechanisms".

This is totally worth the 20min length (especially when he talks about demos) and really shows that some industry people understand gamers.  There is hope.
