Jesse Schell, Puzzle Clubhouse Creator and CEO of Schell Games gives his keynote speech at the 2013 D.I.C.E. SUMMIT. Titled "The Secret Mechanisms".

This is totally worth the 20min length (especially when he talks about demos) and really shows that some industry people understand gamers.  There is hope.

I wish I was half as smart as this guy and I think he's got some very valid points.  They just can't keep hyping the same thing over and over again and throwing it at us - we want something different - all your pretty graphics and hype don't make it a better game - give us new gameplay and and new and rewarding experiences!

I get the demo and trailer point.  It makes sense.  How many games looked fucking amazing and just flat out sucked balls.  Or was not even a gametype you enjoyed.

If Diablo 3 had a beta, I would of never bought it.  I would of played a level, been like "meh" and moved on.  But the trailers made it look so bad ass I couldn't resist.

Hell, I have a drawer full of XBox games just like that.
