I just returned from Laconia and Day #2 of the International Classic Video Game Tournament at Funspot and let me tell you it has been quite a day. I was able to speak with many of the best arcade gamers in the world, including several of the people featured in the films Chasing Ghosts and The King of Kong. Regardless of your take on those films, I wish to make it clear that this is one of the most gracious and friendly group of people that I have ever met.

I just returned from Funspot and wanted to post a short report of my first day at the International Classic Video Game Tournament. As Thursday serves as a soft opening to the event, many of the top players will not arrive until tomorrow night. However, I was able to meet several individuals who had formerly held world records and it was nice to check out the event early to get a feel for what the next few days will be like.

As requested, here are some additional pics of my PC-10 arcade cab. It took me a while to figure out the best setting on my camera to catch the on-screen graphics. Apparently Night + Portrait seems to work pretty good on my Olympus. So anyway, here are the pics. I am getting ready to head up to Laconia, NH for the American Classic Video Game Tournament at Funspot, so I will dispense with any captions for now. I just purchased a Castlevania game board for my Nintendo Placychoice-10 Coin-op machine and let me tell you, this game is even better when played on a cabinet unit. I spent about 3 hours playing last night and couldn't get enough. I have always loved this game and playing it on a full-sized cab really adds to the fun factor. First off, I was not award tha the GOW Comic Series was going to continue past Issue # 6. That last issue wrapped up the story of Jax and Jacinto very nicely and it seemed all the Gears Comic Goodness was behind us. However, during my weekly trip to the comic book shop, I came across this - Gears of War Issue # 7.
