The last issue (#6) of the Gears of War Comic Series came out today. This storyline covers the time between the first and second game. I really enjoyed the books and the artwork was exceptional. My only complaint is that Mataki was not mentioned. She was my favorite character from Aspho Fields. I seriously hope that she makes an appearance in Gears 3. They definitely saved some of the best artwork for this last issue.

I had the pleasure of traveling up to Laconia, NH today and sitting down with Gary Vincent and Bob Lawton of Funspot to speak with them about their combined experience of over 75 years in the arcade industry. Funspot is officially the largest arcade in the world according to the Guiness Book of World Records as of last year and the home to the American Classic Arcade Museum and host for the upcoming American Classic Video Game and Pinball Tournament in May. I finished editing my interview with Bob and Gary and hope to have it up on the Front Page soon.

My girl and I have set a date (Saturday, May 9th) for our second annual Kickin' It Old School Video Game Party. As most of you know by now, I am an avid vintage video game collectors and enthusiast. Every year, we remove most of the furniture, put the bed in the basement, set up multiple game stations, plug in ALL 17 of our current consoles and invite about 30 of our closest firends over to play as many old school (and modern) video games as they can.

Come on people! It is time to start getting excited about the Chicago LAN in August! I know that the economy sucks right now, but apparently we have sold a paltry 17 tickets so far. This saddens me to no end. I know that I am among the fiscally challenged procrastonators, but I fully intend to get my ticket as soon as my next expense check rolls in from work within the next few weeks.

So I worked my last shift at Gamestop today. As many of you know, I took on a part-time job at the video game retailer back in November to earn extra money for the Holidays. My plan was to quit right after the New Year. However, my better half was recently laid off, so I kept working to earn a little extra cash. An additional bonus to the position was that I was able to score some cool swag in the form of standees and posters to give away to you, my fellow 2old2play members.
