The FFB needed fixing? Feels fine to me, it's such a damn subjective thing.

From Tim

Notes (which may be incomplete, I compiled them from what I could see):
- New driver
- New animations
- Fixed inside windshield reflection
- Modified backfire
- Improved materials
- adjusted tire wear

I can't track down a more complete list than this I'm afraid.

My fingures didn't move as fast as my brain :)

what I meant to say was I just felt the ffb strength was a tad on the light side compared to the other models which I believe are all smaller and lighter vehicles.

It's currently the only isi model that doesn't feel right with base  wheel settings....all and all it's good and can simply be fixed with a slight tweak in the settings could also just be my wheel ? :)

rF2 FFB is light on the Fanatecs for some it's true to say, I like a lighter feel and I think it's only the Formula 3.5's I crank it up a little also maybe as you say having a duel belt wheel means it will feel different.

Yeah, I don't see the point in giving you a dirty windscreen unless there is a way to clean it., either washers or a wipe in the pit, I guess these are on the to do list :)

Thinking about getting this but my PC is 3 years old now. I know most of you guys have brand-spanking new rigs but do you think it'll be able to run on my lowly HD 5770 512MB graphics card.

I assume so you might have to lower some settings till the game gets optimized....worst case scenero you might have to upgrade your gpu...they ve come down in price you could score a really good mid range one for around $150-250 if your just running one screen

It ran just fine with my old 1gb 6670 which at the time was only £40. You should be good.

I'll say you'll have to back off some settings, half a gig of video ram is not a lot for running a next gen sim, and rF2 is I have to admit a bit resource greedy.

Yeah, I've been considering wasting a bit of money on a new cpu, motherboard, gpu and ssd drive.

This is as good a reason as any, I guess.

LOL, it happens to us all, Since I started with GBR I have built an entirely new computer, brought three monitors, new wheel, pedals, rim and am already thinking of upgrading CPU and GPU, though that is just thinking, I get good enough performance from what I have...

YES!!! :)

I don't know where I heard it from  but I could have sworn I heard a while back it was gonna be the Honda? Does this mean the btcc is giving licenses to there name and cars or is this a Honda license for this car?

208 rides again! Here I am in a Sim Racing Revivals race sporting a Tarten skin. It's a German club with a couple of fellow testers racing there hence my invite to join...Damn though there are some fast dudes here. Two races down and 6th out of eleven both times, and that is down mostly to attrition. But it's good to be racing with rF2. Track this week was Essington Park, not one I had but worth a download if you don't have it.

I spotted the GSC 2013 version of Interlagos was modded for rf2, had a blast round it with the 2013 Viper with both Endurance Racing X & BES mods together and was surprised how smooth it was with 25 cars on the grid. However the night transition had all cars illuminous blue like I had super powered night vision.

Also joined a EnduranceRacingX server and had a blast around LeMans for quite sometime, which halted any thoughts of rejoining iracing lol.

Just read on the rfactor forum, the civic is going to released any day now.  Tim Wheatley just posted ISI will release the painting template today first.

laugh

For 2old2race BTCC Championship to grow, you need to switch to rFactor2 ASAP to attract new drivers. I wont be able to host or compete as my pc and server isn't powerful enough, and the physics are to sensitive without a wheel.

Not sure I agree, as much as I would love us to switch. There are not enough tracks for BTCC, not enough cars either, one car a grid does not make. The Civic is a great car to drive, and hopefully will make a good base for modders, there are also other older BTCC cars being worked on. So have no fear we will be running rf1 for a while yet. Most leagues run them side by side, I drive in four now and each of them are predominantly rF1 with occational rf2 races...and of course Kurupt is not a fan cheeky

Lol....knight pretty much nailed it on the head.  I'll revisit it when more content will be available, hopefully they can land a btcc rwd car license to help the modding community get a more accurate  reading for both drive axels when creating more content.

@ mango if people flock to a game just due to a btcc car your best bet which is just my opinion would be if and when the iracing honda is released strictly due to the fact it will have several btcc tracks.....that's if you have a $100+ to rent  the content to run a season ? Which is another reason I let my membership expire it's an endless money pit.

atm it doesn't matter what sim you run, the small community has been spread even thinner with the launch of all these new titles as all the servers are pretty empty.  So bad I've been contemplating picking up a ps3 and running gt6 till things on PC side pick up just so I can race daily as opposed to my current once bi weekly hr race :(

Lets correct a couple of things here.

First, iRacing is not an "endless money pit."  Yes, if you want to run an official series or two, your initial investment beyond the base content is expensive, $100-$200 at a minimum, since each season has 12 weeks which means 12 tracks, plus the cost of the car if its not base content.  But, each series uses some tracks that are included as base content and some tracks overlap series.  Watkins Glen for example is an awesome investment since it is used in many road series, as well as our GBR iRacing series road races.  You also have to pay a membership fee, which easily can total as little as $50 if you take advantage of one of the many specials that iRacing offers.  But, iRacing offers something no other sim does - credits that you can use towards your membership and content.  For being a member for one year, you get $5 in credits.  You also can get up to $10 of credits per season for a total of $40 per year, by simply completing 8 out of 12 races in two series per season.  Its easy to do so.  That means that my yearly membership cost is basically $5 net.

Second, PC sim racers do indeed have lots of choices, but there is no lack of options for racing in iRacing.  I can basically find an official race any time of any day.  No other PC sim offers such flexiblity and options for quality online racing.

iRacing is not for everyone, but it is one of the best entertainment investments I have ever made.

A few things you forgot to mention as well.......

IF you get hooked to iracing AFTER a yr and catch the deals it will eventually become cheaper yes,BUT it's extremely exspensive to start off career and as the game keeps releasing content it will continue to suck money out of you plus your $5 yr membership if you take part in the sales/series.  To me an investment is something I own till I decide to get rid of it, IF iracing folded all that money is gone and you have nothing.  In the end it's no different than renting and paying someone's else's  mortgage you get nothing when they sell the property.  plus they lock the door when your membership runs out and you have no access to the forum or servers.

I know you it's your go to and ovals is your thing, but the road side is seriously lacking in cars and physics since the main focus is the ovals which is hands down the best in any sim!

ive put in 2 seasons racing in 2-3 series each time and there were hardly any races asides from the mx5 and star Mazda which had 10 or mor racers and by race end your luck if half the field was still there.

iam not bashing the game at all as I feel it's a great product and I love the online factor......personally it was just far too exspensive for me to continue and there was very little road cars that got me excited so I just pulled the plug.

Well here is an argument that has been done to death on every forum, it works for you or it doesn't. This is the rF2 thread, so lets try to keep post at least vaguely rF2 related.

On that note a small tip, if you are having issues with frame rates, and many do, try reducing resolution, I have done this and to be honest it looks pretty much the same and I get rates of up to 80fps sometimes more on less detailed 3rd party tracks with up to 15 cars on track. This is on triples with a 2gig 670. Made all the difference in races and also lets you ramp up the eye candy.

The Civic is released, I love this car. Great fun to drive, stable but can still bite. If the back end lets go, opposite lock and throttle will get it back, this car is all about throttle. Takes a bit of practice but once you have it it is great fun. 1:22:357 is my best time around Loch Drummond long, so there is your first target. Hope you guys like it, I found it a little odd at the start, but once I had done some laps it started to make sense. Wets still need a little work, so recommend you keep things dry for the moment.

Loving the track but I am having a hard time with grip and FFB. If i set the ffb to 2.00 the wheel seems to go dead on the turns and then snap back on the straights. Just wondering what settings you guys are using in game for the FFB. I still have the DFGT.

This is very nice.  Only slight issue is lack of FFB around the center during the turns.  I am using 1.5 FFB multiplier.

The ffb is going to feel different, as far as I am concerned it is just about spot on for FWD, remember you are being pulled not pushed into corners, I leave the multiplier at 1, I have also dropped the brake bias back one click, just found that works a little better for me. The DRGT is not a wheel I have used, and it is quite different to mine so I am not sure what setting would work best, but that loss of FFB around corners is what you would expect, with grip and acceleration being taken care of by the same wheels. Matt Niel was very involved in development of this car, thank goodness, some may recall myself and another tester disagreeing on the ffb, he being a real life RWD racer. A long conversation with Matt Niel and ISI came back with an ffb feel that I and other FWD on the team thought was a massive improvement, suddenly during testing my lap times were right up there with our RWD aliens...heh quite a shock for them to be chasing me for a change smiley

Good catch mate, I was aware it was going on but until they said anything, well you know the score. Matt is very helpful and is working away to get more teams involved, since the release of the Civic was so well received and got so much attention I think it's fair to say more attention will be given to this class of racing by ISI and Manufacturers. The Mod is a long way from being ready to test but I will be keeping an eye on it :)
