Actually mistake on my part, time of course does not effect the tire wear if accelerated, I miss read something, but the half hour tires are as they are in real life, so perfectly possible to over drive them and cook them in far less time.

I would be interested to know if you see a drop in frame rates from the old to the new...

I'll give it a go shortly....I forgot to ask u what does canned ffb mean ? And too reduce the ffb and smooth it out would I lower the car ffb and raise/lower the ffb smoother?

I have said don't use the smoother it is only for cog wheels, canned FFB is...well an effect that is just triggered by an event but is uneffected by the event, true FFB is. Hight of rumble strips for example, a canned effect just gives a generic rumble, true feedback is effected by the hight, distance between ridges etc. All rF2 FFB is directly related to reatime events and updated some 4000 times a second

I didn't say you were, I suggested maybe why you were finding it a little strange was because of the real FFB as opposed to the canned some posts back smiley

Interesting comparison here between rF2 and iRacing FFB

Feels3 has updated Croft and it looks amazing, considering this was his first ever track the mind boggles at what this talented modder will be doing over the next year or so.

An interview with Feels3 and a sneak preview of Blackwater Lake a fantasy track and the textures are looking real good, I note he is a fan of British Tracks so expect more of them over the coming months.

Just did my first real run with rFactor 2 and the Clubsport wheel, with GT rim, last night, using the Lotus 49 at both Historic Spa and Lienz.  This sim is coming along nicely.  The FFB and physics continue to be the best available in the sim racing world, although I suspect that Assetto Corsa will give it a run for their money.  The Lotus has improved greatly since the original release. Its just amazing to feel the different sensations coming from the car to the wheel.

Next up is the Formula rim.  smiley

Heh yeah takes some beating, I have a formula rim coming for the elite, when they get around to it.

Build 218 is up. Some good news for Multiview users, replays now work across three screens and the rain looks like rain...well, more like rain. More work on auto downloading missing components for a mod when online, this will be a boon for series organisers as once it if fully implemented getting tracks and cars for series will happen automatically just by pressing the get mod button. Another good step forward.

You may see transparent trees on 3rd party tracks, this can be fixed by editing the transparency value in the plr file from 1 to 0, It is a small edit for modders so we should see updates for 3rd party tracks quite soon. This is due to something the modders themselves wanted added, exactly what slips my mind. No fix needed for ISI tracks.

Nice! Just in time for me upgrading to triples.

Do you know of any decent places to find mods for RF2 as they are scattered all over the place, out dated, or mod dependant.?

Torrent of all third party tracks here http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/7103-Download-All-locations-%28tor...

Some are good some are dire, to be honest I am a bit behind on third party stuff, don't get the time to try them or keep them updated so just tend to go with feels3 and Virtua stuff. Not much in the way of cars yet, one paid mod that I don't rate and the Lola that is quite fun (expect you have that)

The sim is locking up when I try to update, whether it be automatically or manually.  There is a thread started in the Technical Support forum.  Others are having the same problem with Build 218.  sad

Something of interest gives me 3 now :)

is it rf2 someone mentioned there was a btcc ford or civic in the works? If so is there more btcc cars planned or was it just a single manufacture contract?

i meant to ask you on sat. About button mapping.  I've switched to the paddle shifters and auto clutch for most games and left foot braking and what I noticed is that when I downshift it will only go to neutral and not reverse....I had to map a reverse button which is a pain in the ass when racing.  Will they be addressing this or is there a way to make it go into reverse by downshifting ?

cheers

Yeah there is one licence so far, no idea yet which one. As for reverse, no idea what your problem is, I use paddels and reverse is on the downshift, never heard of it not being. Have to get together on teamSpeak and run through your settings.

After doing the latest update rf2 no longer runs ? I get a ui core missing or damaged...I've done 2 separate uninstalls and installs but still get the same message.....I did a google search and found a thread on the isi forum  but there wasn't any response from the community except one from dev. But beining a noob it was like reading a foreign language....something about a file within a file find a line and change something but didn't say much on what I was changing.  Anyone have any suggestions

I wonder if your Hard drive is suffering with some bad secters. If you haven't I would give it a full scan and defrag. You do seem to suffer more issues than most and there must be a reason for it. Wish I could pop round and have a poke around your system and give it a good old interrigation.

People new to PC's are their own worst enemy, it is true to say. But you seem to have more than your fair share, this latest thing of Dx files disappearing is worrying. Tell me, what security software are you using?

Build 240 and Silverstone are out. Silverstone has a couple of minor bugs, holes in track behind the safety car and under one of the bridges but unless something has gone very wrong indeed with your lap they are unlikely to impinge on racing. They will of course be fixed in a later update.

Heavy on frame rates I'm afraid, big track, lots of details, but I unless your going for screen shots things like track details and reflections can be turned down with little visual hit in cockpit.

"It hosted the first race in the Formula One World Championship in 1950, and today our virtual recreation of the modern Silverstone Circuit is available for installation in both the newly launched demo version which is free-to-try, and free for those who have already purchased.

The circuit features a 3.66-mile, 10-turn Arena Grand Prix Circuit that first saw racing in 2010, and is the venue for the 2013 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX this weekend. It will match up well with the Grand Prix and GT cars already available in rFactor 2, along with a British Touring Car currently in production.

“We’re excited about the release of Silverstone for rFactor 2. The guys at ISI have done an excellent job recreating both the track model and even trackside atmosphere down to the smallest detail” said Thomas Richmond, Commercial Rights Manager at Silverstone Circuit.

“We’re also very interested to see how rFactor 2 racers cope with a changeable racing surface, different lighting conditions, and the virtual British weather, too!”

Tim Wheatley of Image Space Incorporated, noted that today’s release marks a turning point in the development of rFactor 2, seeing a major step forward in the techniques the track builders at the company have used, and after focusing early on with implementation of realistic physics, the graphical possibilities now available to modders through recent updates to the core software."
