I am very unhappy, because after one week training, a "bad" qualifying (I failed under pressure.) my xbox crashed during lap one or two in a trainingrace with some of you. It is funny, but that seems to occur always sunday and always at 20.00 GMT.
After rebooting (router, xbox) I was not able to connect to you. Public lobbys were okay, but I could not connect to anyone from you. It seems that the xbox connect somehow, in the background I saw your signs and names, sometimes I could hear you talk, but than ...."Couldn't connect due to serverproblems" Sh...... Frustrated and angry I sent a message to the host "Start your race without me!" and drove alone against some AI.
Just before I went to bed, I looked once again after the xbox-connection to Live. After one week without troubles now popped up "...router problem uDpp (?)...." I don't know, what that means, but I will look in the evening and give it one try to solve this problem. If this problem will not disappear, I will retire from EUSL. I don't want to cause any more problems for you all.
Don't give up. Router issues are common to start with.
Is the router thread for new members in the forum yet? Anyone? I used that to solve many of my online issues. Port forwarding etc.
Would also strongly recommend plugging directly into your router, not using wireless.
Check that Your router don't have reset time setup at 20:00 - or i could be that Your Internet provider are reseting IPs at this time.... On most of the broadbands change of IPs is ones a day.
To be honest all players in the EUSL have had the same problems at some time , please don't give up it takes time to smooth out the problems !!!!!!!!!!
So...Don't mind this track, seem a little more on the pace and be able to lap fairly consistently, there are a couple of places where a moments loss of concentration or getting the line just a little wrong and BANG off you go. But I quite like that all or nothing thing. Last race I seemed to be nursing the car around the track, this week all seems more...racey 1:36:373 clean and a 1:35:2xx dirty. Mind you there is still time for the Aliens to start putting in 1:31's and bursting my happy little bubble.

That's solid lapping Knight. I don't think 1:31's are in the car. Also no ghosts of the mrs to chase :)
Cheers mate, I did notice the lack of ghosts...had to find my own lines Got down to just under 1:35 and there is another 500th there so not bad, now if I could just not feck up my clutch I may have a half decent race this week.

hy not practice with clutch but race without for now. in a long race it will ultimately help you and on this track the difference might not be as big as you might expect.
Keep getting empty posts I have to edit. Grrrrrr!

I might do a few runs and see just how much time I lose...you could well be right that on this track I may not take too much of a hit...And to be honest during a race I lose time on every corner worrying about changing down anyway.
As there are no replays on Suzuka I have put one up on the storefront. Search POIDSLY and eusl, 5 laps and includes my best LB time which I don't think I can improve on.
Laps 2 and 3 are low 1:34's. Lap 4 is a bin. Lap 5 is a 1:33.7xx.
Notes:
Turn 1 - 113mph is possible. Turn 5 - brake early for control (but full throttle) through corner - end of kerb on left 75 mph is the best I can muster. Hairpin - I get best results diving wide to tight and then pushing wide under throttle. Last two corners still not quite right and am certain I'm not getting them right.. There is quite a lot of time to be lost in them.
Anyway, I hope the replay might help someone.
Aliens - how your wheels not spin on the braking - every time i press brake they going to squizze - check telemetry - the same temp, the same pressure, the same brake possition and You slowing down smooth i slow down on the halfslide half turn wheels and after realse brake car tend to drift.................... strange
Need to investigate it more ......... H-pattern shifter don't help but more of fun
Thanks, I for one will be ginving that a look. Love that first corner, get the turn in just right and you can really carry some speed, just the slightest lift off the throttle.
here's a status to inform you all about my progress.
xbox:
I've surfed the net to find clues to those nat-problems. First I updated the router firmware. Resultat: No one could phone here and no internet connection was possible. After hours I had everything under controll.
Than I changed those port settings and started the xbox to look. And .... Yeah! .... the nat was open. so I started FM 4. Everything was okay. After shutting down FM4 I thought it would be a good idea to check the nat again. And ....Noooooo .... status middle.
Grrrrrrr, another session testing. I changed everything back, than completely new and now came the difficult part: I had to change all IP-settings. For a normal human being - I'm not a tech-freak, it-junkie - this is a great challenge. What do I know about ip-adresses? And routers? And......
Okay, after another hour everything went smoothly, but it seems, that one routine I will have to do every time again, if I want to play FM4. First: Switch router off and than on. If he is okay, I can start the xbox. Check the nat-status. If okay, than I can start FM4, but if I have to leave the game or if there is a lobby problem, as it was yesterday, I will have to do this all again.
OMG, is this the modern way of living? Okay, I called my phone company. They said, I can buy another router, which is able to UdpP (something like that), but my budget is like Huey Lewis sang years ago "Workin' for a living".
I will test the nat and xbox everyday and .......
SUNDAY I WANT RACE WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll give it another try to connect to you. If there will be problems with me, I will mail the host and you go without me.
If there are no problems, you will go without me either, but I will follow on the track!
racing:
I improve my time regulary. Each round a little bit and it's so much fun doing it. Yesterday I learned a lot about Sedona. And I have to apologize: Knight, sorry for my worst crash into you in the first corner!
I now know, what you all mean: Since you are racing for many years, you know different cars, tracks,..... It was so funny to drive another car than the MR. Until S Class (I like my Lotus Evora a lot) I tried to drive with you. The R cars are too much for me.
A good day for all of you!
JDANKERT
PS: For sunday I've designed my MR new. In memory of March 2011 in Fukushima. It is only a year, but in German Media it seems we have already forgot.
