So much for the "fix" -- "Contacting Destiny Servers, Contacting Destiny Servers, Contacting Destiny Servers, Weasel."

Eff you Bungie!!!!

It sounds like maybe, after killing countless Taken, our valiant raiders were taken down by weasels (perhaps conspiring with the other animals in the Bungie zoo as well). Please say it isn't so!

I have been experiencing frame stutter ever since the latest Bungie update. It has happened prominently at the Tower, going in and out of menus and smaller amounts during the KF Raid. The only other time I've seen it was at the Valentines event where I noticed some at the over decorated Tower.

Anyone else notice strange things in the last few days.

I am in the Xbox preview program too.

Addicted2Chaos (sic) had a real issue with the preview program -- has a video up at Halo Diehards.  I was in preview for awhile and started having chat issues, left the program and issues disappeared. My recommendation is to get out of the preview program.

I may well take that recommendation.  :)

I'm going to give it another day or so. A lot of re-downloading if I get out of the program.

After the latest Sunsinger nerf, I decided to delete one of my two Warlocks, and replace him with a Hunter. After getting up the nerve, I did... He was level 5 in Iron Banner the second day and a 40-335 the third. Now I can either tether or Golden Gun (I really didn't like getting tethered or GG'ed in the crucible).

Sunsinger nerf? Yeah they nerfed the Firebolt grenades for being a little too OP in Crucible, but the changes to Viking Funeral have made Sunsinger very powerful - if used correctly.

I know there was also a nasty bug related to some of the Sunsinger abilities, but that was soon patched.

In fact, I was reading a thread on Reddit recently about how effective fusion grenades are at stacking the damage multipliers for the group. A 15% buff to ALL damage is pretty massive and the fusion grenades allowed for a more reliable method of activating the buff than solar grenades.

Anyway...

At this point in the game, I really enjoy playing all three classes. They all have their place in the various PvP and PvE activities, so you really are missing a large part of the game if you don't play all the classes and subclasses. Plus, it helps to take a break from playing the same class all of the time.

According to this recent post on Bungie.net the Sunsinger nerf hasn't been reversed, and that it affects all solar damage in general. Cosmo responded to the opening post, saying "it was not intended and that they are investigating".

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/208815413?sort=0&page=0

Someone said in that thread that "You can literally stand in the solar burners on the Shield Brothers strike (tank room) to the point where your health will actually regenerate because it's doing way too little damage." I'll have to try this the next time I'm there.

Played a bunch of Mayhem Clash recently. There was a Sunsinger in one game spamming solar grenades. When supering, he filled the room with solar beach balls. They didn't kill anything, and I could walk through them. My solar Invective seems to be a lot less powerful too. I haven't been able to kill a Bladedancer with it since the latest nerf. My Found Verdict (arc), though, still kicks arse.

You're right though, I am enjoying the Hunter. I'm no jumping bean, but the new abilities are fun to play with. One Warlock is enough.... Just wish I'd deleted the other one.... Started doing the Y2 stuff that the first Warlock had already completed.... Exotic sword quest, calcified fragments, Mountaintop quest... etc....

I'm with Darth - I really enjoy playing all three classes. My Hunter was the last one I created and was #3 in the pecking order for a long time. Now he's probably my favorite in the Crucible even if he is a lot squishier than the Titan.

I'm a one class guy. There are too many nuances between the classes for me to effectively use them all. I like the Hunter class a bit but find the look of Warlocks to be a turnoff.

I don't recommend being a one class player over all three but if managing all of those traits and abilities is holding you back, pick one class and stick to it for long periods of time.

Darth, I hope they fixed it, but it was the "ignite" function that took a hit. Any Sunsinger ability that caused his opponent to burn actually gave that opponent the equivalent of an overshield. Plus, it removed the DoT from Viking Funeral and Touch of Flame - making firebolts worthless. Self rez all by itself was not enough of a reason to run Sunsinger anymore - unless in Nightfall, maybe. I ran Stormcaller in this week's NF on my Warlock. And, I ran Stormcaller in Iron Banner, whereas my Warlocks always ran Sunsinger before with fusion grenades mostly.

I really didn't like the Golden Gun and Shadowshot tether used against me in the crucible. Now, I can kill them back. ;)

Yeah Minotaur, I believe that bug has been fixed.

I used to be one of those people that played Sunsinger only for the self-res, but that's boring and really not much use to your team except in VERY specific circumstances. The other two super perks are much more fun to use, instead of always having to hold your super. Plus, actually being able to feel like I can use my super totally changes how the class plays for me.

Sunsinger in PvP is still fun for me. Hit Radiance and with T5 Discipline, you get to hand out grenades like candy...lol I've recently rediscovered my love for the sticky grenades (for all classes). Very under utilized by most players, but it's so much fun simply lobbing a sticky on the faces of shotgun rushers.

In short...KILL THEM BACK GUARDIAN! lol

Xur is selling the Mida Multi-tool today.  Definitely recommend getting and equipping this weapon (even if you don't use it for anything else) for raid jumping puzzles.  When fully upgraded it can give a double agility buff.  Definitely helps an old stumble bum like me get thru the puzzles.

I noticed today's daily story is Lost to Light, not that we need it to pop as the daily for a chance at a black spindle run anymore.  Its still broken and will force you to wait for the postmaster to give them to you later.  I ran across a post on reddit that said you will get 25 marks instead of the 15 though.  Anyway, I still need a vienna singer if anyone wants to jump in for funsies :).

Challenge of Elders this week - Keksis/SYLOK/Overmind Minotaur; Grounded and Catapult with Grenade Kill bonus. No Cabal!

Second great week in a row for CoE - almost like Bungie really wants us to play it.

Max out your Discipline and jump in. Warlocks, bust out those scatter grenades and Nothing Manacles.

I guess they are still making it up to us for that week of trickle in CoE.

Today is paradox, another story that won't give marks right away.  Bungie says they are handing out 25 marks for these in your postmaster this coming Friday.  If you happened to run the Lost to Light both times it popped this weekend & now Paradox, that's 75 marks.  Time to watch the balance before you collect.

Destiny is starting to look like a marble box.  Push one in (fix a bug) and one pops out the back (a new problem).

OMG, the XB1 preview program has been a pain in the ass this time around. Login issues, reporting issues, watching rented movie issues, frame rate problems in some games, multiple daily system updates.

As I type this, I see that Bungie.net is offline for maintenance. Haven't had the Xbox on, but I suspect the game is receiving an update as well. Last night was the absolute worst ever, for me, regarding Iron Banner/crucible lag......

Got so bad I left our fireteam and went into the Classic 6v6 playlist as a random to work on the Mountaintop quest (4 games with 6 pulse and then scout rifle kills). There, there was no lag and the games played very well - all green bars all the time.

They say they are just doing maintenance again.  Hopefully they can fix some of the errors.  Worst one for me last night was being beetled near the end of a match that I was actually leading for.  I rarely lead, so something had to be wrong :)

The classic 6x6 is one of the better playlists, in my opinion, for getting those types of quests done.  I've done the mountaintop already, but was moving along some of the alt characters quests along for something to do recently, and found that area to be less annoying than any of the others... at least for that day it was.

Played Iron Banner for a while last night and didn't notice redbars/lag except for one match. Seems better than it has been the last few weeks.

On a possibly related note, I tweaked the QoS settings on my router to dedicate some bandwidth to the XB1. I'm not sure yet, but it does seem that I'm getting more consistent speed. There were 2-3 other devices streaming video while I was on, and they didn't seem to be affecting the XB1.

In case anyone cares, or hasn't noticed yet... Bungie pushed a patched out today.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/13562

They say they have fixed the Solar DoT effect and it should do full damage now.

Still can't preorder Rise of Iron for the XBONE.  Wonder if those devs that left Bungie for greener pastures locked the door and took the keys with them.
