Don't forget that UK changes clocks soon and will be GMT +1. EDT is currently GMT-4 so there is a 4 hour difference right now. When the UK goes summer time the time difference will again be 5 hours. World time zones are fun. We even have areas within the US that don't observe daylight savings which makes it it even more confusing.

The series when it starts (and it will start even if I am the only one in it) will be after we switch to BST/DST here, so the time difference will be what everyone is used to. In the interim we will be getting seed times and working on getting everyone as close to parity as possible.
I know not everyone is happy with handicaps but I can see no other way of presenting a series that the slower drivers stand as good a chance of points as a fast one. The benefit to a slow driver of actually being able to follow a faster one is huge, but if they disappear off into the distance then nothing is gained. I am also sure there are Am drivers who need to practice running in a pack and honing overtaking skills...I think I am now probably up in the lower end of the Am drivers and I have got there by working on being consistent and taking advantage of others mistakes...but I need to work on overtaking.
Anyhow that is the rational behind this, ready tuned cars mean everyone gets a car that is optimized for the track, (tuners taking part can of course tweak to suit them) But the rest of us mortals know our tunes are already better than we could do. Paparazzi will help out anyone fine tune if wanted. Tourni has offered to help folk with tracks and maybe every now and then he could drop by on a Saturday and talk us round a track we are running, highlighting lines and overtaking opportunities.
Or of course it could end up with the same old faces...we shall see
Ah yeah, thought that was what you meant...I guess a lot lot move on to PC, or RL gets in the way. I know the lobby crashes has driven some off too. Lets hope us new faces can get up there and become the new Pro's and if Turn Ten do sort the lobby freezes the maybe some of the old guard will return.
Parcells thinks the key to starting your journey into the pro ranks is to join us tomorrow night for the Lotus Exige Cup extravaganza. Yeah, thats the ticket!

I would love to but the time zone thing makes it too late for me I'm afraid...

And it's too early for me... I'm on my commute home at that time.
Just to keep you up to speed, I am spending the three or four weeks getting to grips with the admin for running the CSLR. I will use information this to also set up the Fairlady cup soon after. This means the FC will be better organized than was to be the case. It also means I will be scrapping the idea of handicaps and replacing it with divisions or something like. Depending on entries this will either be everyone on the same track or two rooms. I hope to keep it down to 16 so we are all on track together.
Anyhow please bear with me while I go through a rather steep learning curve...numbers and their manipulation being my worst nightmare

Please submit your resume and a 300 word essay on how Kabar's participation will benefit the series and/or why you feel you should be admitted and the committe will get back to you.

Knight,
My face is old but I am a newbie so can I play?
Time slot is fine as Saturdays earn me numerous black marks with she who must be obeyed....
P.
For sure mate, just put me on your friend list and keep you eye on here for the details as and when I work them out
you KNOW you have to post a picture of that car now, right?...
Heh not until it's finished....My first attempt is always one of those...it seemed like a good idea at the time, and then I go back and try again
Hello knight,
I am in. Tuesday, 22.00 GMT will be 23.00 in Germany. That will work for me.
By the way: Your idea and this series is a GREAT idea! It will be fun to learn from the pro's!
JDANKERT
Thanks mate it is something of a crusade of mine to create ways for us newer drivers to learn from, and interact with, the pro's.
I wish we hadn't lost so many pros
Form this series or the game in general?
From our race club. There's a lot of incredibly fast guys that simply don't play very much anymore.
