No probs mate. I thought at the time, "ello, ello, what's church up to, that's a slightly unconventional line, mind you it is church, oh .......bollocks, crunch" I actually got through facing forwards. "Great driving Poids, you are some hot shit" i say to myself, look at the rear view and apart from the obvious carnage behind I then just saw a hurtling lump of blue metal. Nothing much they could of done either. End of any chance of anything but last and it sounded fun up front. Such is life. It has however reinforced my utter dislike for all things AWD ;)

Well I gave it a go but for both races I could not be sure where anyone was, so if someone was trying to get by I had to get so far out the way it killed me...It is definitly the cell, but can I get to talk to anyone in Ireland? no just an underpaid bloke in an Indian call centre with a list of questions and an insistence the problem must be mine. Church unless I magically get some bandwidth in the next 40 mins I'll not bother turning up...Monday I get on the customer service roundabout again.

Ok - lets clarify Your sytuation.

You living in the middle of nowhere that only one way of internet connection is GSM - mobile.

First check is any other internet provider in area like "radio wireless provider" - you can check it taking laptop uotside the house and see any wireless connection avaible other than Yours......... or for more info about connections use program inSSIDer.

If only one way is gsm check with one has best signal around and even more important what sort of connection is avaible in your place - i mean GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA  - different providers can have different coverage in your area.

Your setup i belive is - router somewhere as high as possible in Your house to have best connection to provider - then as You described wireless connection between router and laptop - then cable to xbox....

As i said any wireless connection will fragment data send in and out and on the most cases can not send adn recive in the same time what is major problem.

Another big problem for You is that You share connection PC to xbox that priority of data is first to PC then xbox....

Dont know what the router You have but ideal think is to connect xbox to the router on the cable.

Another option is to get external antena for Your router to have better connection....

Can You post here make and model of the router - will take a look what we can sort out Your setup.

The problem is not with my set up...It was working fine for months but in the last four weeks it has taken a dive. My only choice of network is Three and I am on what is termed the National Broadband Scheme, this is a scheme to bring Broadband to the rural areas of Ireland. My connection to the cell is fine, full signal strength but, on last check my ping to the local cell was 992ms, my download speed was 0.33mbps and my up upload was 0.06, my usual numbers up to a few weeks ago would have been 4/5mbps download, 2/3mbps upload and a ping of 30/40ms With this I had no lag, could stream movies to the Xbox from the internet and online game with no problems.

Nothing my end has changed...well except there is one less computer on the network.

I appreciate your trying to help mate but like I say the only thing that has changed from being able to race, and not being able to race is the performance of my local cell, I know it is that because when I was with Vodafone I had a hotline to the engineer because the Cell was always giving problems (once because someone left the door open and the whole thing shut down) For your interest at the moment it is connected to WCDMA and fleetingly HSPA normally I have a solid HSPA connection.

Now I know there is an upgrade due to the Cell, sometime in the Autumn and my suspicion is the current one is on it's last legs and unable to deal with the traffic, it is notable that during the day speeds are passable, this afternoon for example I had speeds of 3.8 down and 3.6 up as we came into evening the speeds plummeted and the ping went through the roof. More people=less bandwidth as I'm sure you know.

Anyhow I have just emailed my TD as Three have been of no help to date, he replied straight away saying he was going to take up the case...thats an email from my TD at 11 O'clock at night. He was key in getting the NBS set up in the first place and is very keen on getting rural communities online with Broadband, so I now have the government on my sidesmiley Bet I get a call from Three soon.

I hope that gets sorted for you Knight, it sounds like you might be onto a winner :)

Althought i don't get why you car was behaving like that.  I'll save up a small forza replay of it as it didn't even make contact on my screen. (sound or visually)  But i still made the mistake of getting closer than i should have been to you considering your connection. :(

Yes I should have dropped out when I said I would, I blame no one for hitting me tonight. Yes I was amazed to get an email back so fast, from the guys iPhone. He is a decent bloke I have met him a few times, the nice thing about life out here in the sticks, your TD lives here and as you can tell is a million times more available to his constituents than an MP in the UK.

Yeah, they maybe able to provide some sort of traffic shaping or broadband cap. For all you know, some one could be hammering the PTP network :)

So here is hoping! :)

Worst comes to the worst they will have to admit that is is the cell not being able to handle the traffic and come up with exactly when the upgrade is due, then I can get a reduction on what I am paying because the service is below par, wont help for racing in the short term but at least it would be something. It is their support insinuating there is no problem that got right up my nose...and up my nose is not a place you want to be wink

Indeed, but glad to hear your going home, from what I understand from my Polish friends here, Ireland was once the land of opportunity for them, but now it is Poland where the opportunities lie and they too are going home. I do hope Poland makes a better job of growing than we have here in Ireland...we made a real mess.

Be honest I'm not sure about this land of opportunity but i just feed up of england - 6 years here is enough. We did the plan - small house in Poland and now is time to use it. I'm bit worried about getting job in Poland as i'm not exactly sure what i want to do. Anyone got good business running in Krakow and need good worker ? IT, CAD/CAM, Engineering a lot more abilities...

We enter Round 11... Maple Valley, a car killer for the Aliens and Amatures alike.

Grid positions were taken up for what was going to be a deciding race for some! KnightOfRedemtion heads up the field (left) and Fitzy in 2nd (right) with his rival Parcells in 3rd, 4th bastek, 5th Zeratul, 6th Antz... a few pictures to show off what we do! :)

Into the first corner we go.. Fitzy pulling an early lead whilst KnightOfRedemption get challenged for his position by bastek, Parcells dives to the inside to defend his line.

Racing continues, Antz locks up and looses a few positions, probably due to having a beer can stuck under the pedals!

Meanwhile Poidsly and GrumpyHowe exchange paint whilst chasing ChurchPro!

and Tourni out in the lead, makes a mistake and pushes a fellow racer into the wall.

Fitzy and Tourni take the wins in their respective Divisions.

Race 2,

GrumpyHowe couldn't get moving off the startline and Tourni tries to nick his stereo..

A few laps in and the field still as tight as ever! Zeratul leads the pack!

and RogueGoose fights his way by Stevigiers

The Aliens close in on the Division 1 drivers, an incident unfolds at 120mph, the view from Paps car, as Church and parcells get together, Tourni and Poidsly choose their line and clench their buttocks!

Unfortunately, Poidsly caught Parcells and Tourni inched through with Paps close behind.  Tourni overcome with excitement, fell off the track on the next corner.  Fighting for 3rd place on lap 13/15.  Tourni takes the curb and goose keeps him closed in.

Race 2 winners - KingCobra and Bastek!

Into the final round we see Poidsly and roguegoose just 4 points apart for 2nd Place for the Alien Division,  Division 1 sees bastek pulling out an 8 point lead over Antz with Zeratul and Fitzy tied for 3rd spot and Parcells close behind.

Final Race is Camino Short, tight and twisty :)

Tourni that race 1 incident was not your mistake but a race incident plain and simple. I knew you were about haf an inch from my rear bumper and the body language of your car told me you were going to pass me on the right at corner exit, so I PLANNED to stay to the left. Sadly my car decided to have a mini tankslapper at that moment and well..... half an inch isn't all that much space to react.wink

That maybe, and to some extent i agree. But I think i should have done any of the following in an attempt to avoid it.  I didn't pick up how bad you had come off that corner though, as i thought the AWD would pull you out a bit better.

Ease of in anticpation that you come off the corner wrong

Give MORE space, take a closer line to the inside

Brake and wait

Its quite funny though, how you can read the body language of cars and you know exactly where that driver intends to send the car! i find it really strange, but damn cool.  I know when manouvers are coming a couple of corners before they do :D
