Even though I spent quite a lot of time being used as a pin ball another great nights racing. Just watched the replay and have to apologise to Helios, just didn't see you (or expect you!) to be outside me on the hairpin.
Managed toget into a rythem and was in the low 05's but it was just not enough to catch the pack in front even with a couple of low 04's arrived at by being in last place and following the Aliens!!
No worries Cyber. Shit happens. Cars were pretty much everywhere, and there was a lot of chatter due to all the passing and attempted passes. It wouldn't have been so bad if the nose didn't stick in the wall like a lawn dart. The second race made up for it, so it's all good. Brilliant battle w/ Fitzy & Parcells after we worked together to break away from the mayhem.
Tourni, I was just looking at the standings and it appear you have mine & Parcells finish flipped in the second race. I was behind Fitzy in second, w/ Parcells breathing down my neck in 3rd.
Though all in all it's a moot point as I'm going to be out of town for the final 2 races. Damn shame as I managed to claw my way up the standings (still trying to figure out how w/ my dismal start) and seemed to be making a pretty good go w/ these cars.
Finally Parcells wheel lasted an entire race and I had some great fun yesterday. As Helios mentioned, him, Fitzy and me were able to get out front early in the second race for a superb battle the entire race but the first few laps of the first race were anything but smooth a hell of a lot of bumping going on but after that things settled and had a fantastic race working my way to the front but Antz was too smart and too far ahead to blow the lead he had.
I've personally not experienced the excessive (over the top) driving I've read about but I got to say the manner in which the Aliens caught and passed us (the people I was in close competition with) yesterday was exactly how it should be done. I didn't see anybody plow by and more than once the faster car lost considerable momentum because some of us DIV 1 guys had the balls to hold our line or take the line we were entitled to without concern of the faster guy behind but once it became obvious these cross-division battles were hampering both persons divisional battles I think most of us let the aliens by at the right time?
Was a blast holding you up Tourni in the practice races and also in the real races but I thought the plan was to knock Fitzy off the road when I let you by on race 2?
Indeed it was, there wasn't that much holding up on my part. Any place that i caught you was not a passing place and you guys had your own battles going on. I let a few people know that i was coming through at points where they felt a little tap to get them wide on the exit.
The racing was always going to be tight round there, and the same for the final race where its your last chance to get some points!
The first race was a bust, first my wheel acting up then I just couldn't get going again. The second race was the most enjoyable I've had this series, Helios Parcells and myself had a great scrap that lasted the whole 20 laps. Races like this restore my faith in Forza. The fact I won made it all the sweeter.
my race was okay. I have to deal with the fact, that I am too slow. Even if I am a lot faster and nearer the best times, because of my training sessions. I think I will have to concentrate on breaking and finding more traction. A new thing is clear for me now: I am too shy and defensive. It is too easy to overtake me. Hmmm, I will try harder next time.
The leaderboard-times for Maple are showing, that there I will be a lot more time behind. Every tip anyone can give, sent, tell, show,..... is very appreciated. Which corners are very important? How to drive that curve before going down under the bridge and riding up the hill? ..... The longer the course is or a race lasts so more my faults are showing up. Hmmmmmm! Kngiht said something about consistency. Yeah, I think this is right, but hard to find.
Congrats to the winners and the ones, who set their personal best during the race!
A last question: I saw that most of you guys changed their image in the gamerprofile. There were shown many union jacks. Is there a special reason for? A club thing?

corner 2 in your key corner, get it right and you'll gain alot of speed on the straight, wrong and all that hard work is gone! So find a fast and safe line through there.
The long left hander after the bridge is where you want to start slightly wide and bring the car in, should be full throttle by exit. (well in RWD anyway)
The uphill right hander, start as wide as you possibly can and cut in late so you are at the inside just before the car crests the hill. You can keep the power down then ;)

I tried this secong corner in different ways. Somtimes I am fast and promptly too fast. I can't keep the line and end up in the grass. If I avoid this, I am way too slow. Grrrrrr. One time everything workd fine. I was fast and safe and FM4 gave me 4 points for taking that corner. My problem? I don't know HOW I made it.
The last corner is also tricky for me (and for Fitzy, who raced with me a few minutes ago :-) I have to trailbreak to get the right angel, right? Most of the times I am too deep and onto the grass / curb. That ruins often my "clean" lap.

Tried hard yesterday, had some tipps from HLR Cobra (Thank you!) due to my driving, but didn't manage to improve my time. Only got a dirty 1.48. That track is to big for me
Don't try to do the track as a whole, its too much :)
One corner at a time, tackle the hardest one and race your ghost in leaderboard mode to see where your gains are, from there improve A corner at a time and then try to string them all together. :)
After few laps and Tourni6 replay watch i found that i got too sensitive brakes - touch of the pedal and been just too much wheel lock and car start to slide a bit.... i incresed low dead zone and much better brakes feel what i been strugling last year
busy week not had a chance to have a blast in my evo round maple .... should get a few laps in this afternoon after motogp race. and i now have a head set!!!! had a nice few races with gizzie, fitzy and a few other members last night, though noticed R+ cars do not like me.. since i only have 3 or sumin and not really any tunes for them nor raced them much at all found them a handfull lol.
though i did find my new headset was at time doing my head in. not a beef at these people by any means just i found i really coundlnt block out the noise of church's feedback and was irritating me to the point i had to quit the race and take head set off lol, and same when trackassassin was breathing into the mic lol :P not used to these distractions especially when wearing headset i like the emmersion of the engine noise but find the distraction of anything other than voice hard to focus thru.
did i just give away a technique to make me drive shit!! lol. anyone else have a X12 turtle beach headset, finding it a lil wierd to set up well with livechat.. offline works amazing but the game noise and chat dont seem to mix well >.< either hear far to much game and not enough chat or too much chat and not enough engine. very very comfy though compared to them old shit headets that come with xbox. though i think purely for chat i prefer one of those.

You are getting faster then and thats what counts :)
Keep trying to get as much exit speed as possible by not scrubbing the tyres and some times going into the corners a little slower.
JDankert, I've just sent you a FR. If I see you're online I'll try giving you some advice.
I managed a 1:40 yesterday and Fitzy hit a 1:39ish...both in the Scirocco
Looks like the challange for the sunday is - not to be overlapped to many times...........

Replay on SF, LAP 4 is where i figure some things out. The first few laps are me searching for a comfortable line :)
