I have never wanted to reach through a TV and slap a character so bad in my entire life.  At this point, I'm eagerly rooting for her to die

I dont know if you read my post in the previous thread in V1, but I went about how I felt sorry for Shane, and how he lost it because of Lori. People were on Shane's ass but I actually felt sorry for him because of this bitch.

Instead of saying "you had to do what you had to do" she just looks at him like "you monster" and now Rick is turning out to be the bad guy? Un-fucking believable.

Loved that we got to hear what they said to Rick at the CDC.

So what now? A fucking prison instead of a barrn? Can't even begin to fucking imagine in the shit Carl will get into.

Also, I want Herschel's shotgun.  What'd he have like 100 shells loaded in that thing?

Michonne, the Governor, and the Prison for next season is going to make this a very long wait.

They're not gonna do anything with the govenor, or it'll be a half an episode thing they gloss over. They're going SO far off the comic and doing their best to not have any of the good violent bits it'll never happen. I want to like the show, but they're making it SO much about the drama amongst the people that it's changing damn near every character. Show Lori and comic Lori are two very different people. I think if I had never read the comic I could enjoy the show, but the comic is just so much better.

Wrong, the Govenor is going to be a big part of season 2. I was reading an interview with Kirkman where he was saying they were waiting to here back from AMC to see how far they could take things on tv (rape, zombie fight pit, etc)

Even though they have diverted from the comics, I think the core of the comics is still in place.  The comics were always focused on this one group and how they survived, changed, and interacted in a world where safety is tenuous, you can't call 911, and dead people want to eat you.  In that way, the show is doing a great job.  I will submit to the idea that they dragged along in the midseason with all the Sophia stuff that went on just way too long but, overall, I like the changes.  They keep me guessing.

I think budget is a huge concern for this show and I'm even kind of surprised they're doing the prison at all for that reason. But AMC made a kind of big deal about casting David Morrissey as The Governor so I expect him to be a major part of the third season (IMDB even has him credited in the very first episode of Season 3).

I like how much different the show is from the comic book - even though we know who the Governer is, I like not knowing exactly what his story arc is going to be. The major plot points are intact - Rick's injury and waking up in the hospital, Lori and Shane, all the major locations, Carl getting shot, the walkers in Herschel's barn, and the zombie herd - so I expect at least the second half of Season 3 to be about nothing but the Governor and, to be honest, can't wait to see how they tell the story.

An easy way for them to save money would be to simply do away with the Governor's "town" and make him the ruler of the prison. Like the group arrives at the prison and it's already being run by someone else and they have to join them? Not saying that's a good idea or anything, but it could be a way for them to keep the story sort of intact and still show some of the good stuff. Just shooting out ideas, take them for what they are.

Holy Crap Lori needs to be chewed up by a Walker.  Except for that, great show.

I was surprised there weren't more deaths in the finale, but I just say, it was one of the best season finales I have ever seen.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who wanted to gank lori, but i think rick needs to have a little tammy wynnette heart to heart with her as he chokes the living shit out of her. he had to kill their 2nd best fighter and literally halve their strength for her trifling unfaithful ass.

and am i the only one who finds it kind of wierd that they spent an entire season on the farm and didn't bother to really fortify it?  i mean, wtf?   they could have built a motte and bailey kind of deal.  dig a 8-10 foot ditch then put up a 5-6 foot wall inside that around the farmhouse?  i mean, they didn't really do anything, just hoped the fences would hold.  after that herd on the highway in season 1 i would have been planning for that to happen again.

I was thinking the same thing too!  That they should have fortified the farm and dug a lake or something around the place.  maybe fill it some with gas so if walkers do ever get there, just bah!  Flame on!  But ah...  Oh well.  Glad they're off that farm.  The season was filled with a lot of lame and then picked up in the finale.  So glad they're going to make their way to the prison and bringing in Michonne.  A bit bummed out still though with Sophia gone because I wanted to see how the prison arch in the comics would have translated to television but oh well.  Hopefully something good will come of it.

Also, thank you Rick for being a badass finally!  Lori can seriously STFU because come on, she's the one who was all "Rick, go take care of Shane" and then when he did, she's all "OMG NO! You monster!!!"  What a ho.

Well Moe I hated this season at the Farm, made for boring Tv. Season Finale was more like the first season of TWD. But Since the start things were crazy at the farm, first most spent half their time looking for Sophia, then because Carl got shot, then the kid Randle, things just accumulated.

I think the biggest ending was showing the prison right next to them, yet no one has metioned it.

not sure if they had enough time on the farm to do a lot of the fortifying that you guys are talking about. remember the initial part of the intro to the farm was that they were going to stay for a little bit and then leave, if Hershel had his way. When Hershel finally gave into Rick, they were starting to do some mods to the farm like build the watch tower on the windmill and stuff, but they didn't get to the dirty work.

another thing was, I really don't think a lot of time passed over the season. I think it was just end of summer/beginning of fall when they got to the farm, and it still wasn't winter yet when they left. They stretched it out a lot. they'll find a lot of difficulty when winter comes along, even tho they are in the "south" it still gets pretty cold.

I'm in on the Lori is a asshole bandwagon. I was pretty disgusted with her and actually said "fuck off" aloud when I saw her reaction to Rick's explanation. She needs to go. I'm looking forward to the prison, not because I read the comics. I'm excited because maybe now they can lock Carl's dumbass up when they want him to actually stay put. That little shit found a way to stumble into everything. Rick needs a new family if he is going to survive. I was also pretty happy to see him lay things down for the group after their little piss and whine fest over what's happened. It's easy to talk all that shit, but we saw how many takers there actually were. Darrel is awesome. Carol tried to flip him for some reason and I loved that Darrel basically blew her off. I really wish we didn't have to wait until the Fall.

Been watching too much Walking Dead. I was working in the yard yesterday with my iPod on when I thought about how Dale was attacked in the field.  It hit me that, with the weed eater and iPod going, I wouldn't be able to hear a zombie sneaking up on me.  I then had this uncontrollable urge to look over my shoulder.  Once I started, I couldn't stop thinking about it so I ended up pulling out one of my earbuds so I could hear the undead creeping up on me.

I need help.

Spoilers for those who haven't watched anything. big ol wild spoilers

My take on the whole Lori thing..

Well my wife thought it was bad directing that lead to Lori's reaction. I was inclined to believe it as well until I thought about the events preceding the death of Shane:

- Flash Back S02E02, Lori tells a friend before Rick is shot that she doesn't love him anymore and may never have.

- During Lori and Shane's heart to heart, Lori admits she jumped into bed with Shane SO DAMN quick because she needed him to protect her and Carl.

- Lori Dumped Shane like a bad habit When Rick showed up without an explanation to the freaky fella.

- Lori all but put a gun in Rick's hand and told him that Shane was dangerous and that Rick should get rid of him.

- Rick failed to listen to his wife and was unwilling to eliminate the biggest threat to her perceived stability and protection.

- She has all but said in these words, that she needs to be with somone who can provide and protect her and love has nuthin to do with it.

- Pure specualtion on my part, but I believe after the scuffles between Rick and Shane, Rick not disposing of Shane, Lori believed her alpha male protector could not be rick. In that case it must be Shane. Lori Told Shane to kill Rick and she would be his. Lori was so freaked out that Rick was smart enough to get the better of Shane when it was understood it was a well planned out trap planned for rick, that maybe rick is smart enough to figure out Lori's hand in the matter and that her time standing next to the big dog is coming to an end. Voila.

TV Guide has the first image of David Morrissey on set as The Governor. He looks nothing like the comic book character, but still all kinds of bad-ass: http://www.tvguide.com/News/Walking-Dead-Governor-David-Morrissey-Robert-Kirkman-1048647.aspx
