Don't Starve is already out on PC. Elder Scrolls Online is already in beta. Destiny is multiplatform. Assassins creed 4 which failed to function and had to be stopped during Sony's part is multiplatform. Diablo 3, on Xbox too. Watch dogs, multiplatform.
What PS4 exclusive that they announced today interests people I guess is the question to ask.

Also Elder Scrolls Online is multiplat - Xbox One as well.
Though I do agree with your detractors here a bit, Autarch - you do seem to be only on the negative side for Sony. I thought they had a brilliant showing and they won E3 hands down.
Ya they put that behind a pay wall like Microsoft except it's 50 bucks I think for PS+ instead of $60 for Live (assuming smoeone paid full price)
Not to mention not requiring PS+ to watch Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, etc. on the PS4. I belive Microsoft still requires XBL Gold to do this on the XBox One (unless I missed a press release).
The value-add with PS+ is ridiculous. It's a subscription that makes sense to own if you have a PSN account and and PS3 or Vita. Tons of free games (both PS3 and Vita), cloud saves, updates (system and game patches) pushed down automatically, lots of game discounts, and access to numerous betas.

Not sure I follow the uber importance of excluvises. I can get screwed, but get the M$ exclusive reach around, which is nice, I guess? Or I can not get screwed and get most of the pretty good same stuff for less $$? I'm not true to any particular IP, so why should I be hung up on exclusives? Grass is greener?

There's nothing wrong with being able to trade in used games or whatever as a deciding factor for someone. Microsoft allows this too, but there is that 24 hour thing they have which I'm very much against.

From what's been revealed on the ONE side of things, the game license can only be transferred ONCE. So as the original purchaser of a game you can gift it to a friend or you can trade it in to Gamestop. However once that game's license is activated a 2nd time, that's it, the 2nd owner now has a permanent license for that game. It can no longer be gifted or traded.
(I think) I was wrong about Sony. No Eye included for $399 I'm sure, which makes the $100 difference, but that's a great price. That will sell the crap out of systems.

I'm definitely getting one.
I'll get one a while after launch too considering the less expense. Timing just depends on what games that I don't already have the ability to play coming out. If it takes well into next year for enough games that interest me personally then its no big deal to wait. Maybe by then they will have their cloud service in service.
Tank I think that was for person to person, non gamestop, passing off of games. Or did I miss something about Gamestop type used game sales being affected by this? I could have
What did you guys think of the hardware issues shown on stage with PS4 that affected multiple gameplay demos of multiplatform games? One even stopped a gameplay session entirely, but at least the Destiny part cleared up early into it. Scary stuff, RROD type failures on PS4?
It did seem like they were having problems, they also started the conference 20 minutes late which might also indicate they were having technical issues. They could have just had a bad unit back there, hard to know. I assume they were demoing on first off the line PS4 boxes at this point and not dev kits.
Something to think about from a system design standpoint
Both systems have 8GB of ram BUT PS4 is using DDR5 ram which is twice as fast and has reduced thermal output compared to ONEs DDR3 ram. Also PS4 probably all of that minus whatever the OS uses is dedicated to games. On ONE that's not the case, because ONE has 3 virtual machiens inside the one box that memory is divided up by those machines, probably the gaming side is only got 5 or 5.5 gigs to use, assuming the windows side needs 2 and the overlay OS needs 1/2 a gig. This could become a major factor mid lifecycle as games evolve and need more and more resources on these new systems.

Not to pick on you more Tank... but if you can tell the difference in RAM on DDR5 and DDR3.. you're probably not human.. your current 360 has 512k....
Mid life cycle- what memory issue? Cloud computing right out of the gate.

Ah. Analogy, attempt at sarcastic humor, lost . . . . .
Blunt: Assume I'm a non-denominational gaming whore. Why should I give a crap about exclusives?

Snuphy, you're a whore in general ;) Missing you in battlefield
I tried to quote an above poster but its screwing up on me. So I'll just post this part from the edit and remove the quotes.
Actually, Major Nelson posted on his site that the Xbox One will not play loaned or rentable games at launch.
In our role as a game publisher, Microsoft Studios will enable you to give your games to friends or trade in your Xbox One games at participating retailers. Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers. Microsoft does not receive any compensation as part of this. In addition, third party publishers can enable you to give games to friends. Loaning or renting games won’t be available at launch, but we are exploring the possibilities with our partners.
Did you forget that they almost had to cut the Battlefield 4 demo early? I'm not looking too deep into that stuff. It's a live event with electronics. If something can go wrong it's bound to.

That was awkward. In related news, I thought their small boats in the ocean looked amazing, and their destructive environments/Frostbite engine f'ing rocks. Big highlights for me.
Microsofts Battlefield 4 video portion cutting to the end was different than games actually being played on PS4 glitching and Assassins Creed fully stopping due to it I'd say. Destiny started messing up on PS4, and I was going to be mad if their reveal was ruined by PS4's hardware issues. Glad it cleared up early for them, but two other games at least had their gameplay messing up, and weren't as lucky.
Again, let's hope it was a one time messed up thing at this event only. I want a PS4 eventually, and having freakout issues with gameplay won't make me get it sooner ya know?
I love MS and was still giving them a chance to wow me with some awesome games, bc in the end it still comes down to games, and MS lacked sorely in that department for my tastes..
What the fuck are you talking about? You're trying too hard.

Not sure the 'no exclusives' comments are valid, doing some quick interent research these 5 exclusives are available at launch for PS4
Also these exslusives in development :
And there are other Sony exclusives not currently being talked about like Gran Turismo
A paid PS+ subscription is required for online gaming on PS4.

So? I pay 60.00/year for live. I believe the subscription for PS4 is rumored to be $50.00. I have no problems with that.
Each console always has their slew of exclusives. It's naive to think that just because they weren't talked about tonight that they won't be there.

True, Microsoft and Sony both mentioned even more exclusives for their respective next gen/current gen/or handheld systems.

IGN in their post-show stuff said they found out that Microsoft spent mroe than 1 Billion dollars shoring up timed exclusives for ONE.
I very much enjoyed when IGN called the console look of PS4 "Xbox One in italics"

I read before it started it was for seating, but who knows really of course.
I'd much rather it was dev kits than actual PS4's as thats more indicitive of having issues at launch, wouldn't you say?
Hopefully its the only time those errors happen. I'm sure Sony can't afford a RRoD situation.
Is there a web list of exclusives announced today for PS4 and Xbox One? Perhaps if it has multiplatforms too that's cool.
