This is an email my wife sent out last night. Please understand that we are at an early stage with the diagnosis, so I do not have a ton of knowledge on the subject. What you see is what we know so far. The muscle biopsy will confirm the diagnosis and also show the doctors the severity of the issue. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers. All the time, God is good and God is good, all the time.

For those religious folks out there, or for those who like a good Christmas story movie, The Nativity Story is a historical telling of the birth of Christ. Well, we came home yesterday evening, and man it was just in time. My back was about to go on a permanent vacation from the cot we had to sleep on. Anyways, there were a couple of revelations while we were there. First of all, the underlying cause for her being in the hospital was due to a virus. A small one, but a virus none the less. The doctor said and I quote, " If this is what happens when she gets a little virus, imagine what the flu, rotovirus or RSV would do to her." That was a little hard to swallow.

Just got word that Megan has a protein allergy that she will likely outgrow as she gets older, but for now, she can only take a certain type of formula. She is still be fed through the tube, for the foreseeable future. As far as her not being able to swallow anything, that is still up for debate and the neurologists are going to be going over her MRI with a fine toothed comb. One problem resolved, many more to go. I will keep you posted. Off to the hospital for a wonderfully relaxing night. [/sarcasm]
