Well, we came home yesterday evening, and man it was just in time. My back was about to go on a permanent vacation from the cot we had to sleep on. Anyways, there were a couple of revelations while we were there. First of all, the underlying cause for her being in the hospital was due to a virus. A small one, but a virus none the less. The doctor said and I quote, " If this is what happens when she gets a little virus, imagine what the flu, rotovirus or RSV would do to her." That was a little hard to swallow. She had lost 12oz in a matter of days and had become quite lethargic, in only a matter of hours. When these things happen to her, they happen very quickly, so we were told we need to be on high alert for pretty much the entire flu season. She has regained some of the weight. When we left yesterday, she was back up to 12lbs 12oz. She is also on a new formula. It's called Elocare and unfortunately has to be ordered. That sucks big time. It's not cheap either, about $45 a can. As far as the protein allergy goes, her virus coupled with the allergy really magnified things. It was nice to find out she had an allergy, but I wish they would have found it 6 months ago. As far as the future goes, well, she will need to be watched closely during the winter and we are praying for the best. Here are some pics from my camera from our wonderful "vacation". Take care everyone, and we thank you for your thoughts an prayers.

Happy to see you guys are home and she is doing well. At least they found what was up finally. And you might be able to control it now.

Glad to hear things are going well. From what I understand most kiddos outgrow allergies like this.

There aren't words to tell you how much I feel for you and your wife. God truly blessed us with our children, since I wasn't supposed to be able to have them, and I thank Him every day for the Angels He loaned me. As fellow Christ followers, know that you will be in our prayers always. She's a beautiful little girl! Keep us posted on how things progress.
