I haven't heard from her since Thursday.  I didn't hear from her over Memorial Day weekend.  She hasn't talked to the boy since Thursday evening.  She told me that she didn't want to be shut out of his life if it went south, but I knew she was having a pipe dream.  I spent all of my childhood as a stepchild.  When a stepparent goes, they never come back.  Sometimes, in my case, it was a welcome relief.  But she got mad at me when I told her she would find someone new, become a 40 year old baby factory and forget all about that little boy.

I was terrified that I would suck at this game.  Now I'm not scared, but I still suck. 

But there a few moments when the light shines down and the actual ability/dumb luck shows up, and I get to look like the shiny turd in the pile!  At least in my own eyes...

It's been a good couple of weeks. Went to the SoCal Lan last weekend and had a blast. Weekend before that I went and got the tattoo my son has been telling me to get for a year. It's the Barrel o' Monkeys, uh, monkeys around my right calf. Talk about gut check time- tattooing the shinbone hurts like a bitch! I'll get some pics up when I get through the scabby-slimy phase.
