Keep in mind too Knight, when your class goes up (R to D for example), your SR will drop accordingly.  So your 4.2 in Rookie, will likely drop down to a 3.2 in D class.  So your "horrible race", may really not have been quite so bad.  161

Ah! I did wonder, seemed a bit harsh I hadn't hit anyone but had a few self made offs out of bordem towards the end of the race LOL

Yeah, if you think about it, it makes sense.

A wet behind the ears driver, ready to graduate to D class, isn't going to have the equivalent skill set of a driver ready to graduate to C class.  So the drop in the SR when you go up a class is to represent the difference in skills between the license levels.

As F1 mentioned at GBR, those of us that have been racing at GBR, R2P, 2O2R and even 2O4F are at a huge advantage over someone just entering iRacing, and racing around other humans for the first time.  As such, the license levels w/ corresponding SR are a bit "off" for us until we get past the first 2 or 3 licenses.

Had a very productive evening last night!

Did a few races in the little single seater Fords, and following the advice above got my SR rating from 2.69 to 3.48 smiley

Funny thing was I came 4th and 5th out of 16 just by holding back and letting everyone in from of me crash and spin out!

Is there anyway that you can be sure to be in the same room as your buddies?

As me and night was on TS, we was entering the same races ect, but both times we was in different rooms.

Did you use Helios' tune?  He seems to have greatly reduced the SRF's tendency to spin.

Ouch that is quite a hit. Not sure I dare go near Laguna...not one of my better tracks at the best of times. Loosing SR due to other peoples errors is a pain and my least favorite part of iRacing.

ya its frustrating....2 races ive been hit by spinning out cars in the first lap causing me to repair and end up being a lap down by the 2nd lap leads to a long unconcentrating race causing stupid mistakes and adding to the mess angry

Yep I hear you, I have stopped thinking about this as racing for the moment, just an SR hunt. If I get shunted at the start I just put in the laps, hold back from fighting cars, let past the aggressive drivers and keep that SR going up. This week there is no chance to increase MPR requirements either, So it is just about SR.

Well that plan went well didn't it mate 21

You should see the stupid little track that is up today, like if yesterday was like driving up a multistory carpark...today was like driving round a tumble dryer...Smallest track ever dude. Gave it a miss.

Also updates to cars have made some of them very different tp drive...not in a good way. frown

I wasnt very impressed with the updates at all angry

FFB feels weak in some stronger in others.....the v8 went from difficult to ridiculous.....sways like a boat in the ocean and has no contact with the road?

The ffb in regards to the road feels very cluncky like the tires are made of rock rather than rubber......my new quit wheel isnt so quit now, i could just imagine the rukus the g27 would make !

hopefully it will get tweaked

What exactly is driving tilt? and its functions ingame?

there were some good updates...like sound and menu upgrades.....

Ive noticed in 3 races.....none which i finished :( this update is causing chaos in races and making bad drivers horrible

Yes, I just can't see how they can sell you a game that is prone to this much change and say it is finished. Their making fundimental changes to cars that have been around a while...why not get it right before we "beta" test them, Poor show. I suppose it's the new tire model. But a little more internal testing woud go a long way to avoid sillyness like the SRF slipping it's clutch in every gear in the first update.

Oh I think Tilt is for controllers that have motion sensers so you can tilt to steer, not a biggy for us but may well be a godsend to a disabled driver.

I hope this won't kill my joypad driving days.

They may have add more pad  support.

Will have a look in a bit.

I can pretty much guarantee that isn't going to happen.  They can be pretty uppity in regards to "realism".  Or at least their definition of realism.

I cannot work them out?

So you can drive by using your mouse (Left click go Right click slow) or a touch screen monitor (Swipe finger left and right on a bar like a droid app that appears on screen) and now support for pads with motion sensors.

All I want is to be able to set a dead zone and thats it!  crying

It's the week between series, so that is the week they do all the updating and it never quite goes to plan. If you look at the number online there is always quite a drop during week 13. Shoud be back to normal Monday.

Ovals this week have been a nightmare!!

This new update has mad the car slide so easy. I personally dont mind, After 10 laps or so I adjusted (Slowed down abit wink)

The issue is eveyone else!!

These tracks are so small there is no where to-go. Just done a race and the top 7 cars got in to a massive pileup just because a back marker spun.

Rating is now 2.19. How low can I get it?

This safety rating is frustrating the hell out of me with the number of incompitent drivers in this game...arrgh 3 races in a row....operation safe drive every time by the 2nd lap ive been wrecked by idiots -.40+ I really wish they would group drivers better maybe by Sr? The overall product is great, but. when your paying big bucks to play it gets frustrating when your progression depends on the driving of timmies that just came from forza....I've been seeing tons of drivers who cant even control the cars once they turn the wheel? They should have a few challenges. Before being able to race in rookie...do a driving school intro...followed by a time trial x amount of laps with only x amount of incidents allowed before beining allowed to race in lobbies. Due to this issue i can see how people can be turned off of this game
