Its been a fantastic 3 years but all good things must come to an end as tonight’s races will be the last time we run GT5 on a Thursday night. Be there or be square.
But no need for tears or to get all upset we’re not really going anywhere. Next week we will kick off the new and improved GT6 Thursday night extravaganza. Eventually I’ll make a new thread in the GT6 sub-forum once I know more about the on-line options but I’m quite certain we’ll be reverting back to a private room and running spec cars each week for the last 1.5 hours but still starting at 7:00 EST to do whatever the hell we feel like until the official/unofficial spec cars races begin.
Actually, you can re-use this one or start up a new one in this forum as all race events (FM4, FM5 or GT6) will be listed in this forum. Cant wait to see what you planned for next Thursday
Pretty safe bet next Thursday will be a free for all mostly checking out what on-line options we have available using whatever cars they make available to us.
Well hopefully by next Thursday everyone has had the chance to get far enough in the game to open the online portion.
My understanding is that online racing is now unlocked, with the 1.01 patch that will be available for us in the US and Canada to download by tomorrow. You do have to do an initial single player race with a Honda Fit, but otherwise, online racing is good to go. Buy and install the game, download and install the patch, enjoy the intro, drive the Fit and then you are good to go for online racing!!!
That is my understanding as well. Will be good to know what the car requirements will be for next week so I can make sure Im ready. Id hate to spend credits in the wrong direction this weekend and not be able to race on Thursday

You will not need anything next week whatsoever, practice included :) I'll check it out this weekend but I doubt they removed the current abilty of picking from an on-line recommended list of cars (or ALL cars - an improvement me hopes) otherwise put it off a week or go with one of the bonus cars maybe, we'll see. The following week I'm definitely looking to a spec car but it will be pretty cheap I'm sure...will be checking out the Renault Turbo 5 pricing right quick :)
Having watched snappy's video of Darin/Sean playing the first hour I'm now thinking it will be quite the grind to accumalate a lot of cars fast and more skeptical that the current great payouts for seasonal events will be significantly reduced with GT6 but I'll find out in a couple of days (cant play tomorrow, bummer, maybe time to install/upgrade)
Some good racing last nite on the final GT5 nite. Had a full room at times which made it a little hectic but with that many drivers when doesn't it. Thx for hosting Parcells!

Since most of us will get 25 cars from the get go. Maybe we should pick one of them to start.

Picked up GT6 yesterday and I've been enjoying it. I'm ready for GT6 nights!
