Congratulations...When and if you get the time would you give us some details on what to buy and any issues you encountered?

Thanks

I will Wheels.  I intend to start a Triple Screen Set up thread, which will chronicle my experiences setting up my triple screens for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.  I have learned a lot.

I will start with one tip for the day.  DON'T BUY USED SYSTEMS!!!!  I made that mistake for the Playstation 3 systems, and low and behold, last night one of the systems developed a loud clicking noise.  Fortunately I am still within Game Stop's seven day return window and so I can return both systems and get new ones instead.

Wheels, here is the link to my new thread re triple screens.  With regard to your specific questions, I am using a 32 inch 1080p HDTV for the center, a 24 inch 1080p HDTV for the left and my 24 inch 1920 X 1200 Dell monitor for the right.  I am using my wheel stands, not a cockpit.

Looks like I am not going to be able to make this Thursday's GT5 sad

Appears the conductor is going to make sure the train makes the next station...

So we are heading down the mountain come hell or high water surprise

Unless someone puts an awfully big rock on the tracks (or I get a VPN connection in time) looks like I will be at work tomorrow evening crying

Does anyone else NOT have tonight's car? If no one comes back saying they do not (or will not) have it Parcells will purchase it.

It is most definitely a DLC car and I will purchase it everyone else has one, otherwise I'm not wasting money on cars I do not need (tonight excluded). To reiterate, it's not the miniscule money that's making Parcells reluctant, it's the fact that none of the latest DLC cars really interest me. But in the interest of opening up more spec cars for us (since we're limited to premium OR Online dealership cars) the argument to purchase the DLC is favored. Does anyone plan on racing a similar rated car?....which one, maybe I'll pick that up.

That said, what's going on Craig? Are you trying to kill us or something? Don't you know some of us on the East Coast tend to drink and drive on Thursday evenings. Sure, you get home after work sit down to race while me and sloshes like me are well into our 6th+ beer when the spec races start and this car seems designed to kill me. I'll have to gear up some safety harnesses tonight to avoid risk of injury.

Parcells, the Jag drives like a champ.  Make sure you have the Racing Softs, and that you enable SRF.  Driving Spa with this car is pure sim racing goodness.

I will try to get on by 6pm PST tonight, but my wife gets pissed when I jump on too early.  Feel free to proceed without me, I will get on as soon as I can.  I am going to be testing my triple screen set up tonight, so there could be technical issues.  Rumor has it that triple screen doesn't work so good online.  sad

SRF is for girls. If I need to use SRF to drive a car it probably means I shouldn't be driving that car in the first place wink

I guess I'll cough up the $6.00 and purchase the DLC.

Elite wheel made it to Canada customs yesterday so one would think I'll have a new wheel for next Thursday with any luck...yeah!!!!!!

Awesome, let us know what you think of the Elite once you try it out.

My Elite went belly up last Wednesday, force feedback became weak and rough, and the wheel got pretty warm to the touch.  I just finished the back and forth with Fanatec support and they are sending me a new wheel, which I should have early next week.

I dont have any dlc cars in gt5. If I need the dlc to race than count me out. If you can gift me the car and it will still run on my ps3 then I will race.  I'm done spending money on add ons that i wont drive.

Just use a race car that you do have in your garage that has the same PP as the Jag I list in the spreadsheet.  The Minolta, Sauber and Mazda 787 are all excellent choices.  Make sure you add racing soft tires.

I cannot gift a Jag to you because it exceeds $1 million in value.

Skid Recovery Force.  It helps you avoid spin outs, particularly with the fast cars.

If Parcells dropped out somewhat abrubtly last night it was because I was taping the basketball and had any one of you mistakenly shared the outcome of the Wisconsin/Syracuse game I would have been very upset so rushed out before anyone could say something Parcells would regret smiley

No worries, but you missed out on some great post-spec racing.  We used the "Recommend" Skyline car, and it was a hoot.  Mark and I had one of the best finishes ever at Grand Valley.  It was amazing.  We were back and forth almost the entire last lap, I ended up taking him on the last turn, after he had overtaken me on the second to last turn.  Mark's driving only has improved with the new GT2 wheel and Clubsport pedals.  Damn you OldSlowFred for selling those to him!!!   smiley

Was talking to Mark and I heard just that along with some dirt races Parcells so enjoys, oh well, my loss.

But back to your awesome race with Mark, he said the exact same thing...one of the best races ever but lets not mention it to him because he's still pissed at himself for overtaking you on the second last turn instead of the last turn which sounded like it would have produced a different result? Rookies Craig, you gotta love their over enthusiasm cool

He did overtake me on the second to last turn, but his problem was that I was able to get more speed coming out of the turn than he was.  Meanwhile, Dan was talking to us about all of the trouble he has had with his Clubsport pedals.  It was a surreal collision of events, best fun I have had in a while in GT5.

What no pics?  Doesn't that game let you guys take photos of some of the action?

Maybe I should get a PS3.

You can save replays, I sometimes do of the more exciting races (if I remember).

But I pretty well always forget to go back and look at the replays blush

So unfortunately I can't really answer the question of whether you can take photos of the action cool

I think you had better get a PS3 Snappy as I seem to be somewhat useless at answering GT5 questions laugh

Plus for your first few outings in GT5 I may be able to stay with you so that will give me someone to race, at least until you get the hang of it wink

Parcells, I have the perfect candidate for next week's spec car - the Amuse S2000 GT Turbo.  Sound good for next week?  I drove it tonight after our races and it handles like a dream.  Only needs Chassis Reinforcement, Fully adjustable transmission and Racing Soft Tires.

Do you want me to update the spreadsheet with your car for next week Zero? (thought you said you might be away this weekend?). I like to make fun of the cars you choose but that's only because you make it so easy for me smiley but seriously you've only built one or two duds in 15 months.

Say the word if you want me to update the spreadsheet with your build, verbatim as triplicated above, and if you have some track preferences let me know else I'll come up with my own and it's a pretty safe bet LaSarthe wont be in the mix wink

I will update the sheet.  And yes, Le Mans will be one of the tracks.

Awesome car Craig, really nice. Did some practising and I'll warn everyone now the person who best manages their tyre wear will win next weeks races guaranteed. Parcells is convinced giving up 1 maybe 2 seconds a lap by not pushing it will work better when the last lap rolls around, GT5 is awesome that way (perhaps a tad too much but a lot better than nothing). Don't say I didn't warn you.

Also updated the April 12 car. We're going Rally Cross racing guys, GT5 style!!!!, bring it on, Marks going down!
