Good games, again, last night. Some audio problems, a couple drop outs, but no game crashes or game resets during the two hours of customs. We mostly played H2 and H2 anniversary. Can't remember how large the group was, but I think we had as many as 12.
Yeah pretty fun last night. I didn't know about the age 50 thing. I was just joining and playing. I'm 36. For now though it may not matter till you got a bigger 50 crew to play with but that's you guys call.

I saw that every single person on my FL was in those games and thought, "Wow, I had no idea every one of those guys was over 50."
Historically, we've filled a party of guys and gals every Tues. We typically let younger people play with us until the over 50 ranks fill up the spots. Turnout for Halo has been low lately for a variety of reasons.
Well last night was good and bad. Played several H2, H2A and H3 games. Early on, the problematic chat was disappointing. When the problem went away, with no chat at all, I decided to simply keep the games rolling even though it was like being in a silent movie. Bummer.
I guess the next update will be a winner?
Let's try again next week.
Possible solutions:
Live party to a max of 8. So what if we can hear the other team? Fails if more than 8 show up.
Live party 2X4. The confusion would be extreme. Again, fails with more than 8.
Some people won't be happy with my other solutions.
Theme for MCC Over-50 night Dec. 23: Silent Night.
That said (plus the hard reboot I did which was an utter waste of time), the games were still fun (when I forced myself to stop being frustrated) and I thought H3 Sandtrap held up extremely well in XB1 HD. Vaht's a great Warthog driver in addition to his other skills. Kudos to Chaos for nearly winning the slayer match on Narrows with a team of 3 vs. 8 (maybe it was only 6, but still ...).
H5 beta can't be any worse (you can quote me later), so I'm all in Dec. 30.
Over 50 night. This week we will once again try MCC. If we have trouble with chat, I recommend we bail to what ever suits your fancy. Communication with you good people is why I play Halo. I recommend Destiny or Titanfall as fallback.
There is not enough room for a sizable message on Live but I wanted to say more.
I am all but done with Halo until Halo 5 releases later this year. If MCC doesn't get fixed to allow stable parties and good communication, I see no reason to play it. I also do not wish to go back to the 360 for Halo. My interest and time lay on the XB1.
As always, my personal plan is to dedicate my gaming time on Tuesday nights to friends over age 50. We already have friends playing Titanfall and Destiny and I'd love to share more of my time with all of you in those games.
While every good moment in MCC is golden, the pain is worse.
If the chat and party issues get fixed, I will spend "some" time in Halo. Until then I'll be in other games.
Same here. Things that were no issue at all a couple years ago are major issues now. Were the initial stages of XBox Live chat and team creation this glitchy back in the early days of Halo2? I didn't start using XBox Live until Halo 3 in 2007. Rarely used chat at all until I joined 2old2play in 2012.
Halo 4/360 with up to 12 members. Everyone could chat. Teams stayed together. Party leader remained constant. A sense of control emminated. It was a strange but welcome feeling.
We will continue with this format until MCC is guaranteed to produce the same results or the crowd thins.

I believe this solution is but a band-aid.
Found last night's Over 50 indeed downright enjoyable. The numbers of simultaneous custom players and variety of maps on Halo 4 XBox 360 still hasn't been surpassed by anything else XBoxwise that I know of as yet. For those of us Destiny regulars staying up past 11pm ET, it was a good way to form up Fireteams for the remainder of the evening. I'm perfectly willing to play Halo 4 for one night a week as long as possible (and as long as my console holds out) until something better comes along on XB1.
15 old folks had fun in the H4/360 customs for at least 2 hours. The turnout surprises me each week. What doesn't surprise me are the Destiny discussions between games.
Meanwhile on the new and improved Xbox One, my friend and I spent an hour rebooting consoles, power cycling routers, and texting back and forth just trying to get party chat to work. It never did, and we could never get in the same lobby in MCC. Eventually we gave up without having played a single game and both went to bed wishing we'd bought a PS4 instead.
I hope we can branch out a bit to other games from time to time too.
Unfortunatly, I have not recieved my CD Yet, so I will not be on tonight, next week for sure.

It was pretty good. Not quite as problem free as last week.
Good company though.

I only have a couple of years to go. Thanks for letting join. I enjoy playing with the over 50 group. Great bunch of people.

On second thought, the Halo 5 Beta will be up.
We'll form the largest groups that we can and go into MM.

You didn't get in though. And not for lack of trying! Glad "Spectate Mode" worked at least.
I sent this over Live to active members.

Nuff said.

There were some team and party issues with H2, but lag was the biggest problem. Nothing anywhere close to this bad.

This should be Microsoft's new ad campaign for MCC (and Halo 5 if they don't fix voice chat there):

Any chance of doing this for the Xbox 1? I gave me 360 to my kid and been kicking myself in the ass since
Failing that, Halo 5 comes out before Christmas.
I'll be there next Tuesday evening on the 360/H4.... Yay!
Thanks go to Deep and the group.
14 people showed up for H4/360.
Good games :)
Same thing next week or until someone confirms MCC is working.
Promised to raid last night or I would have been there. I definitely miss customs. I will try to make it next week.

H4/360 again next week.
Wow, a console that actually works?! Incredible!

Another night of fun, courtesy of Microsoft!
I may need to try this out. Been playing some H4 in MCC lately. I enjoy it. I'm a big fan of Promethean Vision also.
Full room last night. Good times!
I guess we'll keep milking this cow for a bit longer.
