I have a vinyl group with the required stuff ill send out late tonight or tomorrow. I think the 2005 Mustang gt IS going to be legal. After double checking the NASA wording IRL the Merkur XR4Ti wouldn't be legal so the RS500 wouldn't be legal

If there is a car that you want to race but are concerned it isn't fast enough send me a message and ill look into a pi change for that car.

Also I will update with points info later tonight.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be my car.

I'm still working with the 77' Trans Am.

Rules, points structure, and car list all updated.

2005 Mustang GT is now on the car list.

Also be sure to read the rules. There are some new things in place for this series including bonus points for fast lap in a ghosted "qualifier", and immediate passing under restart. Also clear definitions of what constitutes and "on track incident" and ways of dealing with them.

  • An overtaking driver who has his front tire AT the driver of the car he is overtaking at the turn in point HAS the inside line. HOWEVER that driver is expected to stay on the inside 1/2 of the track. If the passing driver initiates contact because they used more than their 1/2 of the track they are at fault.
  • If the overtaking driver has his front tire at the driver of the car he is overtaking at the turn in point, AND gives the outer 1/2 of the track to the car he is overtaking and contact occurs the car being overtaken is at fault.
  • The passing rules above are from the NASA CCR.
  •

I get these are the real rules, but are they practical in our online racing? By that I mean, is the guy overtaking visible to the other driver? That's my main concern on this. I don't think this is going to be a common occurence as most people don't run through the corners on the outside anyway, but some of us set up to take a corner from the outside and then towards the apex, if visibilities not there it's going to result in the forward driver coming down on the passing "not seen" driver.

The passing driver should communicate that they are there.

It's not that big of a deal. How many guys are going to actually make a complaint. Hell some of you guys won't even take a caution when someone takes you out.

I think it's clear some of the older cars are just not "race car" enough. Mostly the 69 Nova, the Chevelles, and some of the bigger/heavier old stuff.

Brnt seems to be doing well in the 66 Nova though.

The 77' Trans Am is pretty good, and the 2002 Camaro has the potential to be really good too. It was faster at Sebring than my Mustang @ a 2 :16.something

The 66 Nova is a pretty sweet ride.

Most of the older cars are already maxed handling in A class, and extra power only hinders them.

The 65 Mustangs benchmark numbers are disturbingly low in comparison and yet I was able to match times of cars with way better benchmarks. Very wierd.

To answer your question about the schedule, I would prefer 1 race with pitstop

When do you plan to start this?

I'm in for sure Cotter.

Gunny I'll whip you up a nice ride and send it over shortly. I'm about to get on Forza here soon. There's too many cars, you need to get more specific. At least tell me Mopar of GM :)

Yea I'm up for a little practice, I've been working on this Nova and I think I'm fairly satisified but would like to test against others on the tracks.
