So, unlike the NASA series, you have to stay with the car you start with, but you can swap motors all day long?
I'm out simply because of too many rules, and the fact it was quite apparent to me last Thursday, and confirmed last night, I picked the wrong car.
But I guess if I keep the car and rebuild it that doesn't matter? Too many rules and I'm getting static at home for running a race on Thursdays I'm less enamored with daily. Sponsor rules, tow hook rules, hood pin rules, heck some of these are impossible to comply with. Vinyl roofs, chrome front ends, just not possible.
I ran fourth in a car that's woefully inadequate based on what I saw in front of me, and wanted to change, as soon as possible, before we ran any further, but hey, it's over.
Cars aren't usually switched mid series, and since two points paying events will be dropped anyhow that seemed like more than fair.
Sorry you didn't think so.
Everyone else see you on the track tonight!
One race isn't mid series. reference Pizzy's comment "everyone left me on the straights..." As for the time, honestly there were too many choices and I did run out of time.
Gunny, I sent you a complete car. What's with the 02 camaro?
Cooter, hope you liked the paint, tried to work with what you had, hopefully its the direction you were going in.

I was left in the striaghts but was beating everyone (apart from Cotter) in lap times and im not used to the car, plus it was the most fun i drove with you and general. But if winning is what makes it fun, then i suppose it makes sense to be in the fastest car you can be. Shame its a US series, id have quite liked to run it, i just cant commit due to the time
And FWIW in case anyone else was wondering the rules are based as close to the real series as I felt was practical to create a bit of realism. Could it have been "easier"? Sure it could have. It also could have been more complicated too. Even the builds could have been more open with the real life series running unlimited HP numbers. I'm not sure many would have enjoyed a series with these cars and 1000hp though. I made choices and tweaks to the rules to fit the real life series into FORZA.
As for changing the build I stated that you could change the build anyway that you wanted as long as you used the small handful of required parts. I'd call that a very lax set of rules frankly. Especially when most series cars use a spec build with everything dictated even the wheel choice.
Not sure why we are having this discussion, once a series has started we have never changed car.
We had weeks to build and prepare cars for this, i built 8 cars and tried each one. I chose the 65 GTO NOT because it was the best and a winner but because i like driving it, seeing it on track. There are too many newer cars and seeing this big old GTO running with them looks great. Yes its fast down the straights and i have to ease it into the bends, but i will still drive the wheels off it and if i get top 5 in a race then thats a bonus.
At the end of the day, all the cars i built were competative, but i wanted something different, not something that would win every race, wheres the fun in that!?
The subject to specific decals on the car? Prebuilt supplied the decals so what was hard about placing it on the car? Where is the hardship of placing some hood pins and tow hooks on a car? Guys that dont paint can manage that!
I thought this was easy, build a muscle car to 630 PI
Why else do you think I'm driving the 1970 Challanger, although I hadn't counted on the car wanting to go off all by itself. I won't be competitive but I should have an interesting time in this car.
Um..I'm sorry?!?!? I didnt mean to start a shit storm. I was just answering up the call and being honest about my struggles with RWD. I technically have not started a car for the series but I will stick with the 02 camero if I race so there is no issues with the rules or drivers.
Sorry Drivebye totally fucked up and took you with me, clipped the tire wall in the middle of turn 1 and shot me across the grass and collected you on the other side.
tut tut Fitz, and you said its always people hitting you lol
Oldschool, i have to agree with Max on this one. For the globals i got hold of the cars about 30 mins before the start of the race. I chose the Merc as out of the ones id tried it felt the most fun, i know i aint gonna win in any car ( but i didnt then ) but id rather go round slow with a smile on my face than fast bored outta my mind. Which is why with you guys last night i kept using the KC, it was really fun to drive even though i was left by everyone on the straights
Got thrashed by a lag hit mid race. After that, I lost my taste for the race. Since I've mised the 1st 2 races already, I think I'm just going to bow out on this one. Have fun folks.
Hey Pizzy, you're always welcome to host a EU friendly version of this event. we could even ammend this tread to include scheduling info for it if you wanted.
I'll take it with mirras tags and his regular team colors. Thank you sir! Oh I actually got to meet Dave mirra 2 years ago at a rally America event up here in Michigan. Super nice guy. And super short lol. He was driving the Subaru factory car with David Higgins. Great event. The only snow rally in the season.
Yes Kris, it was nice o finally get the opportunity to turn a few laps with you. Maybe my life will settle down soon & I can make more time for Forza again.

I won't be on very early for practice. Maybe 10-15 minutes before.....
Sorry Drivebye totally fucked up and took you with me, clipped the tire wall in the middle of turn 1 and shot me across the grass and collected you on the other side.
Nothing like being booted with a great run going on. So far im 0-2. Will there be a third strike

might just do that but im a bit short of time atm. Nice finally having a few races with you and driveby though man.
man i love it, got to see the Global Event at Bristol today, finally got put up.
Still no luck finding the European though. Did you want that subaru and Liam's mini sending over?
ok man. want it with your tags on or mirra's?
and which colours you want?
Cool, most of them seem like super arrogant so its nice to see not all of them are. Ok, ill send it in a min.

I need the replay from Thursday's race. Tony sent his save but it ends at lap 17 instead of 20.
I can probably work up final results based on lap 17 and the position changes from 17-20 but I would prefer to have a fully functional replay.
Cheers Drivebye, hope you like the paint job btw.
Im making little adjustments to it all the time so i'll send them if anything changes. Ive got an urge to redo the bones down the front
