Got TT done....will try to post replay when I get home tonight....will pm time to Oldmodelt tonight also...lol if I remember.
Well done. And nice to see you again. No hurry. Deadline is this Sunday.
Took a quick look at POID's replay. Well done, and I'm glad you had many of the same race situations as me. Because I have viewed it I will not rerun my TT. Will be on sporatically until the 23rd due to the State Meet. Will get the results (after the deadline) and the actual race specs before this weekend hopefully.

Cheers Mark. Lots of close shaves. Good luck in the state meet.
A head start to all drivers for the next round. I will transfer this to the main thread after the INDY TT.
A special invite to all average drivers. You are wanted and welcome. Not everyone can be a speedster. I'm convinced that many average (by clan standards) drivers don't compete because they see the times put up by speedsters in races. I've never agreed to this philosophy. I used to be slow and now I'm not as slow. But I've always enjoyed the racing. It's suppose to be fun. Enjoy. Because next month's race will test you.
Race Parameters
Indianapolis GP
You do not have to finish 1st in order to win. You are racing against your clan members, too.
You must make 1 mandatory pit stop between laps 10 & 20. This will insure that most if not all drivers are in traffic for most of the race. You may make others at your discretion during the race. This should eliminate the time trial aspect of Sebring once/if you get to the front. I found myself in a enjoyable tunnel vision mode during most of the 20 lapper I ran.

Random thoughts: I have enjoyed doing these type of races. It is a practiced skill, just like tuning or painting. The more you do them the better you get. Surprisingly, the AI seems rather polite as long as you are too. I try to do it one time only. Otherwise it can be grinding. You run it a second time for a lousy 15 second improvement. Once I'm 3 laps into a race I don't restart. You could be there forever trying for the perfect race. I just take my lumps. Remember, it's a long season. And this is just another series to give you some variety. And save your replay for your SF. No replay no points. Put them up right before the deadline.
If I've goofed up somewhere, please tell me. And I'm working on getting the race info pics the right size.
No. Just put in >= 980. Just let the game do the random selection. There are only so many choices out there. That will still put you in 12th (based on my 5 tests runs). And provide some good competition. You will have to work your way to the front. I did. I won't tell you what lap. But then you will lose the lead once you pit. Then you get to do it again.
Computer crashed on the 19th. Being repaired at Best Buy as I type. Either a bad hard drive or something else. Under warranty. So that's good news. Will go through the results when up and running at home again. So have fun with the race in post above. I'm off to the pool tomorrow for the meet.
A bit confused on one thing.
Is there a particular model and build I have to use for the indiegp round or can I build any r1 pi998 car and run it?
Are we still using the Chevy?
Cheers
Just got computer back from Best Buy. Thankfully it was under warranty. New Motherboard and HD. Give me a few days to retrieve my backup data from Carbonite. Any of the FLM09 cars can be used with the PI of 998. Will get my run in this week as I have internet again to run the race.
I ran this Sunday...need to post the replay on storefront. Don't remember my time however....is there time to run it again?
Yes the deadline is the 6th at 11:59pm GMT. Have my computer up and running and will post both the TT and Race results after this week. Got all of my data back from Carbonite, ie., word docs, pics spreadsheet, email. You name it I got it back safe and secure. Not many people so far. But anymore than one (me) and that's good.
Those of you who enjoy these consider yourselves real men (or women) if we get any in the future. Was online with some clan buddies 2 days ago and there is still the race for the first corner mentality and pray that you miss the pileup.
These races will test your patience and skill. Anybody can slam their way to the front. But to do it with sim damage is the tough part. Next month is a true test of your manhood.
Let's see. Test of manhood.
How about 40 laps in a 215+ mph car with the handling of an iceberg round Infineon or Laguna seca.
That will require some chest hair and manly grunting. :)
Judging by your concoctions so far, I will enjoy it a lot. Brilliant fun.
Can only recommend it to anyone who might be even slightly intrigued reading this thread. Jump in. All your embarrassing screw ups can be neatly forgotten.
Model T please disregard my pm I just realised i mis-read your post and ran the bloody thing in the wrong PI car (998).
will run again tonight and ammend.
I'm confused.
I missed the TT but the build in the stage 2 post is 998, correct? How are the cars getting to 980?
I just went through the stock r1 cars and grabbed the one that was at 980. it's a mazda or mitsubishi i forget.
Something isn't right here. The car to run on the indiegp 30 lapper was the same Chevy as in the TT but you were allowed to tune it this time.
>980pi was the setting for the other AI cars so that they were competitive with the Chevy.
Either that or I have screwed up on this round.

that makes sense .. now i think i've ballsed it up again. *sigh*
Model T please can you calrify.. i'm properly confused now.
What car and at what PI are we supposed to run and what PI is the AI supposed to have?
If i have to run it all over again it'll have to be tonight.
Cheers mate. It's what I suspected. Bought the 99 on the AH. Must have opted for a different reward car at the time.
I ran round 2 over the weekend. I had a riot dodging the A.I. Good idea oldmodelt!
My times are submitted and replay up on storefront.
Nice picture in your sign.
Thanks. She actually is my dog and her name is....Durty Dawg!!! :)

See top of main thread and post #69 for race info until I get up and running.
Oh Oh.....I need to get this done this w/e
Still using the chevy, but you can tune it.
Cheers Hat.
Ran it and my right arm is ready to drop off wrestling the CSR elite for 30 laps.
It was going fine but had about 10 quite poor laps when I just lost the groove. Not going to do it again.
Still, very challenging and masses of fun. Time submitted and PM sent.

Still fixing computer. Main Indy Race info up in 2nd post. Next Round will feature a challenge for all. Then a nice easy (sort of) race for rd #4.
I really want to see where I stood in the Indy Oval times... I still haven't run a clean lap on the GP.. 30 laps is gonna be a bastard.. LOL

I think the due date is Sunday the 6th for round 3. That's what I have in my Gdoc of the parameters I keep.
