If I had a mic it would be ok lol

Anyway overall I think it has been a very productive nights testing.

I need a mic before I can host an event as you need to tell people the timer is on and get on the track.

That Rain race was something else. Following Mapo been unable to see shit was fun lol

Parcells is really loving the feel of these cars in stock form that I've driven throughout my minimal career to date. Turns out the Opel Speedster was no exception so it was hard for me to add upgrades but I did anyway but very few and mostly so I could balance out the lack of ability to lose control having upgraded the tires from comfort stock to sport hard...the comfort soft tires are nausiatingly screechy annoying.

Is it just me Grimm or do the brake upgrades suck really bad?...I could not stop those fuckers from locking up for the life of me.

Anyway, I will update the spreadsheet later today (needs some tweaking from GT5 version) but our first week's spec car is as follows....

Opel Speedster Turbo - 00 (440 PP, 220 HP***)

Upgrades include - Sport hard tires, hard race suspension, sport exhaust & sport catalytic converter.

Tracks...

Brands Hatch - Grand prix

Cape ring - South

Laguna Seca

London

Spa

*** FYI...If you haven't figured it out yet you'll find that your cars gain HP and PP as you drive it more. Work it in I suppose because this is a driving simulator, yeah whatever. Add a seemingly innocent oil change to your car and voila all of a sudden you have a decent HP advantage, not condusive to spec racing. Point being and as long as I remember to do it :) I will always set the max HP and PP for the spec cars to be something a little over the original build spec...just a little cause everyone's car will increase in both throughout the night whether you came in with a higher rating or not. If or when your car hits this limit you will not be allowed on the track so you'll have to go into the settings and adjust your HP handicap until you meet the room settings.

I've driven my car a bit while testing and right now I'm at 437, 218 which I'm sure is higher than the original build but I have no idea what the original build was cause I put some mileage in it with zero upgrades before I started playing with upgrades and then more mileage before the final pieces were in place. Bla bla bla you get the point.

They seem fine to me but my pedal settings may be compensating for the touchie-ness of the racing brakes.  Which wheel are locking up, front or back?  If its back, you can either increase front brake pressure or reduce rear brake pressure.  For me, Im finding I default to Front=6 Rear=5 just to keep the back from wanting to swap ends under braking.

Since suspension/drivetrain/brakes dont impact PP, can we run with Full Customized suspension and tripple plate clutch, transmission and race brakes if we want?  If not, no biggy, just wondering

I thought most of those did affect the PP?? Anyway the official response is "please do not substitute any of the build parts."

Unofficially I dont think there's much I can do about it, if you come under the HP and PP max for the room you can essentially use any build you want. But trust me Grimm if you start tuning these cars and setting your gears it'll become very boring very quick as you win most races :)

I did look at the race options for suspension and transmission but they seemed a tad pricey in keeping with the theme of our initial races while people earn some credits if you know what I mean. I'm ok for credits now but I had to put in a solid 5 hours on Friday to accrue my wealth.

Looking at the suspension options I wonder if it makes sense to allow people to run the soft or hard race suspension congifuration and/or both dependant on the tracks? Handling wise there's a clear distinction between the two and depending on your driving style you may wish to use one over the other? Then again part of me wanted to go with the more loose configuration of soft just because I found it slightly harder. 55 What do you guys think?

Done deal, spreadsheet updated. I just assumed the "Rally" version suspension is the same costs so included that too making three suspension options...stock, race/hard/rally or fully customizable.

I can hear you guys just fine.  The issue I had (along with anyone else that is not mic'ed up) is not seeing the timer when in the tuning shop prior to the race.  As for my mic, my POS bluetooth will only stay linked up in the room for about 5-10 seconds before it drops off.  I can turn it off and back on but again only for 5-10 seconds.

Here we go...Spreadsheet has been updated for the inaugural GT6 Thursday night spec car. Giddy up! Hope I dont disappoint too many of you.

If you dont see a part highlighted in green its not part of the build. In other words stock parts are not shown.

and we can build spec cars for multiple weeks in advance.

In keeping with the above suggestion Parcells has built a couple more spec cars (spreadsheet updated). They can easily be pushed out a week or two if someone else wants a turn :). There's a shit load of good cars in this game and I've only just begun.

Test drove most of the Elises and all were decent but 2 really stood out. Scheduled second is the Elise Sport 190 with minimal upgrades. Sooner or later we'll be running the Elise 111R Race car no doubt stock...that car comes fully loaded and drives like a dream without any tuning.

Scheduled first is an assortment of Dirt, Snow, Tarmac and very wet tarmac using another of everyones favorite the good ole Lancia Delta with numerous upgrades, nothing tuneable, sorry Grimm, soon brother soon and/or when you submit a car. The Delta knows rally but I can't wait to schedule a full blown WRC car, ooh mama!

Eventually, maybe, hopefully I'll figure out the Turbo 5 out but the Meganne I drove earlier deserves a spot. Plus an Opel touring car some time I would imagine. We're gonna need a classic muscle car thrown in there too. A nice GTR is a sweet ride and we haven't done a Ferrari at Spa yet, thats needs to be rectified. I need to slow down now. goodnight.

Sounds like fun Parcells.  Im just waiting to get my mic sorted out at Christmas before I host any events as its impossible to (IMHO to host when you cant talk) however Im planning on hosting a series of Open events where we run various PP levels (400, 450, 500 & 550) through out the night so people can test out cars/builds/tunes they have put in place or what ever they have.  More info to come.

Awesome turnout last night guys and awesome racing to boot. Glad to see some new faces.

It seems like everyone in the room had their fair share of “over-cooking” it at one time or another. I think I was doing it every other race but I clearly remember thinking to myself as I gained unearned positions throughout the night “how did I get by Grimm?”, “don’t remember passing Brnt”, “Dan must have had an off cause I used to be behind him.”, “Oh there goes Craig.” Chalk another position up for Parcells smiley I don’t think anyone was immune to this.

Spec sheet has been updated with this weeks car/tracks guys. It will be a smorgasborg of track types as we put the Lancia Delta to the test...It will pass I tested it earlier yes

We'll tackle Dirt, night, snow, day & rain so you wont have much time to get comfortable. If you're interested the snow track will be 100% weather and the rain 100% surface water, 75% weather. The rest default. Remember to purchase all 4 tyre types.

NOTE LATE START: I might make it by 7:00 but realistically dont count on me before 7:30 this week.

Found another car yesterday that was perfect stock....GT-R R35 Touring car...we'll be using it! wink

Parcells, sorry to join your lobby late, drive the right car with no tune and then accidentally get in the Mazda. That last part was because I left the lobby then came back in and didnt switch cars. Brain fart, sorry man. I'm usually not around on Thursday so it won't happen again.

I wouldn't worry too much about it Snappy. Until 10 seconds ago I didn't even know you had the wrong build/car last night. I'm just hoping Mr. Brnt can find his way into this thread to find our spec sheet.

I had a blast last night!

Weekly notice: You (anyone reading this) have about 56 hours to submit a spec car for next week else I'll post the Lotus Elise I tested a week ago as next weeks car.

I had a blast during the last part of the evening, 1st couple of hours was trying to get one set of pedals out of three working.  I tried  my older G27 pedals using an adapter with GT2 Fanatec wheel,  I was 2 to 3 seconds a lap slower in comparison with  club sport pedals.   Hopefully Fanatec has a sale on pedals.  The Mazda touring car was awesome,  you dont need brakes.  Hopefully I didnt cause to many issue's with my throttle sticking on,  I might just try replacing the sensor,  before adding another set of pedals  to my collection.   Hopefully to see ya next Thursday.

Just a note for the people new to GT series,  you are not suppose to be up front all the time.

1:22's??????  Wholy crap!!  I thought I was doing good with 1:25.  Was that is with the stock gear and aero settings?  Was that in the lobby or in the garage test track?
