Well kinda....I know nothing is perfect and Im not asking to accomodate me..Like I said I am having fun...

1=Everyone stays in there Handicap they have..I think everyone can agree that even with the Handicaps after 15-20 laps the lap times are very close...So preliminary "qualification" of 2-3 laps are out...If someone new comes in the race the honor system is in place to see what times they are running..

2= A reverse grid on a new race...Meaning if someone (King Cobra) finishes first one week he will start in last place the following week.Same as the last place guy...he will start in pole position...I know this is a little sketchy from race to race and it might be confusing...But once everyone gets in the room, you can it up to points order ( I think) and we do a small one lapper  and everyone finishes in the order they need to start in the Main Event....

3=Like was suggested maybe tweek the roll off times...if we all start at the same time maybe it will get people in the mix more....

This is just some suggestions and your are doing a great Job Cooter.....I have been in your shoes trying to organize this and it can be a pain in the ass...These cars we are driving handle like they are on rails...there are a bunch of great drivers in this series (Im not talking to about you Stewie) and mistakes are few and far between....If  your still not getting what Im saying (becuase the written word is a pain) I should be on Fri night if you wanna chat........

You have been all over me for the last two races Kat! You raced me VERY clean and it might not look it but I'm trying to do the same. My bad driving is what's keeping you from passing me lol

maybe work with a roll of delay of 5, 10 & 15 seconds. Usually the fastest guys are also the most consistant so even if their quickest lap times are just marginally faster they will close the gap quicker than you think. Also for setting the handicaps 2 laps is not enough, you need at least 3 just to have a reference lap so you can compare splits to have an idea what you can run.

Definately could group by bucket and adjust a rolloff, but that's adding to the handicap, although without altering the feel of the car further, just another option and the group would still be running against each other as they catch up?

You’re doing a great job Cooter this series is pretty damn close the couple races I’ve made and you obviously try to accommodate everyone including making sure they’re comfortable in the handicap they chose. Most impressive is the participants take racing cleanly serious from my experience which makes all the difference in the World.

You just continue doing what you’re doing and Parcells will play along with whatever you decide. That said Parcells is in favor of static handicaps as in once you find the right bucket for your skill level just stay there. Nothing will ever be perfect but generally I will be the exact time ahead or behind person X over the course of 10 tracks. This works for 90% of the poeple...it's only the real slow or real fast guys (thanks King Cobra) where 4 buckets doesn't quite cut it.

So can Parcells race at 0% handicap next week ???

If Parcells gets to race a 0% handicap....I want to also !!!   !55

Cooter...I think you got it pretty well figured out...Although I do think that a few more practice laps before the race would work out better.  In ProAm we found that at some tracks it's much harder to get the handicaps as close as you would like...keep up the good work ! !       Cobra has a good idea with the longer roll-offs too.

As everyone seems to agree with Cobra's idea. I will try it next race. I will also try to incorporate your idea too Kat with the whole starting position thing. Next race qualification will be 3-4 laps vs the normal 2. 0,5,10,and 15 second rolling starts vs the 0,3,5,7. And positions from previous race reversed. Sound good to everyone?

I appreciate everyone's input, I really do. It's not easy running a series I've found.

And good words coming from Parcells......WOW! I must be doing something right.

Like I said guys critisizm will be taken as will advice, as long as your not a dick about it. I run this series catering to you guys, the racers, and your input is very important to me. Keep it up.

Thanks again!

Edit: I've noticed I have a tendancy to keep people in a kind of "static" handicap out of habit. Like Cobra autos at 15% and I usually am at around 10%. It's the lower handicaps that seem to change most freqently. Usually people increasing due to them increasing in skill. Also if someone is having a bad day racing, I try to be more sympathetic towards them having a lower handicap than usual. Cobra is an example of that about 2-3 weeks ago. I had him trying out the 10% vs his usual because he said he wasn't doing to good that day. Then he surprised me and started running better as he warmed up to the track more. Then he went back to his usual. I try to keep it as fair as possible while still making it fun and challenging for the faster guys. If I ever fail in either respect guys, let me know ASAP.

I got news for you Cooter, you're doing very little right! :) It was not my intent to be nice, some times it just happens. Case in point....

Idea is sound but in practise you're biting off more than you can chew. People not making it from week to week plus the obvious "how do you set this up?" question is paramount..."fairly" difficult and time consuming to manage everyone to finish some sort of practise race to arrange the official start order unless you go with a rolling start (lame) effectively removing the delayed start time between the different handicaps.

Frequently yes but not true in this series. My car in this series came in a natural white with the race number 124 automatically attached but if you'd like to design Parcells a predominantly yellow Lotus with the number 11 I will race it proudly!

As tempting as that is Max, and a ripe target that would be, no, I have obligations to others.

Parcells, I can do a paint on the Evora I guess, but  I don't know if I have any yellow paint, it's not usually ordered through our shop. I will look at it when I get home though.

Good point Max.

@Oldschool - If you do decide to try and improve Parcells image with a lovely paint you need to know I cannot race with a team ROFL livery. You're well aware I have contractual obligations to another team where significant monetary fines will be applied to me if found racing for another team be it real or implied.

Not a fan of the Rockstar logo...

Never have I seen anyone so eager to paint a Lotus Yellow.

BTW, don't let Gizzie see you doing that!

Edit: Okay, I've got it. Won't take me 20 minutes or so when I get home.

There are three Lotuses in the game, two of which the default color is yellow aren't they? - definitely the Exige, thought the Elise was yellow too?

The idea of a roll off start is good but if there is a caution then it negates the roll off start.

Very true. The rolling start helps to reduce the amount of first turn carnage and since it has been imposed on the series cautions have been waaaaay down. Like we are lucky if we have a caution in a race. Any other suggestions?

Ive never done a roll off start...so dont know how that is

I get confused easy, so when you talk about messing with the time do you mean making the smaller??...Cause I think someone said that if felt like another Handicap tacked on the already power/grip handicaps...Could we not have the delay start for the buckets??..Im sure that first lap might be a little dicey but I think eveyone that races goes above and beyond staying clean that it might work,,,,,,just a thought....

Roll off start is a delayed start between buckets.

There is not a perfect answer.  You have to do what you deem best for your series.  It may work for this series but not in the next one.  I actually like the heat race format with the handicaps that is being used in the Seat and BTCC.

11 is correct Oldschool...so I'm looking at the pretty car you painted and thinking to myself "That is some fucken nice looking car (I think I'm looking at a picture you downloaded) I wonder what Oldschool's going to paint for me? Got to tell that guy to not bother going out if his way." bla bla bla attention turns to curling and about 5 minutes later realize that's an FM4 paint, Oldschool already painted the bad boy up, wholly shit!!!

That's a special job, there's no way Gizzie could not like that!

You dont have a Canadian flag? Canada is like the US's special needs brother, you dont like your own brother?

Thanks man! Next time I make some condescending jab towards your good character I'll make it extra dirty for you bud wink
