you know it'll never be removed from starting weapons, because there are points devoted to unlocking it as a starter weapon - and that would then be broken.

Agreed. This all leads to a nerf, and not a promotion.
yeah. i think it is more powerful than the shotgun or scattershot.
the range is a little inconsistent, but even when the range is short, it's still better than the shotgun. at 5 meters the shotgun takes two shots and the BS is still a one shot kill.
AND it's headshot capable!
i used it all last night and this morning. i'm getting almost as many kills with it as the DMR on the small maps.
with the DMR and BS, your only danger zone is when your enemy is 5-10 meters (maybe 15m) out. then you may lose to an automatic weapon. beyond 10 meters and you're still good to go with the DMR.

There's no need to even get the Scattershot if you have the Boltshot and you're being smart about it. So, now you understand why it needs to be nerfed. Another Festivus miracle!
I gladly swap my BoltShot for a ScatterShot or a shotgun, I prefer added benefits of the ordinance weapons. I like the quick fire rate of the ScatterShot (and I've gotten good at banking shots off walls with it) and the shotgun doesn't reload after two shots.

Yeah there are definite advantages to the Scattershot and Shotgun as you mention. The shotgun feels very powerful compared to the scattershot, with a bit more range. Then as you said the scattershot fires fast. Both have more shots per reload than the boltshot.
However, compared to those two, the advantage of the boltshot is primarily that you can spawn with it in your loadout.
I will say that sometimes when I can pick up a scattershot and drop the boltshot, I won't so that I have the boltshot and a teammate gets the ordance weapon.
Holy christ, can we not fling some shit in here? I understand there've been rakes and previous baggage, but fuck, settle down in here.
Sorry about that.

On topic, I had a thought regarding the boltshot. If it were to be removed from loadouts, and either dropped on maps or just left for customs, what would be a good weapon to place in there instead?
Is there a weapon from Halo 4 or even previous Halo games that could fit into a secondary slot of a loadout and not be just another magnum, or a plasma pistol?
For Halo 4 it made some sense ot have 1 human 1 covenant and 1 forerunner weapon in that slot. I just wonder if something else could take the boltshots place in there and have a good role in the overall gameplay.

Well, to be fair, it's not just you. It's also to Double T as well.
this is true and after he made the kill, I believe your response was...Ahh now I get it. or something along those lines.
see previous post.
Taking the Boltshot and Active Camo out of the loadout options would vastly improve gameplay - move them to personal ordinance.
However, I am not holding my breath in hopes that either of these things will actually happen.
BravoMLG Camper Warning video. OT a bit but funny.

What a bad map. Oh well, at least it isn't Sword Base.
I disagree. I'd much rather have a shotgun in my loadout!! :)

It feels pretty good to only have 12 total boltshot kills. I would ask how many everyone else has, but is there really any need?
Not really.
You're not much fun anymore :(
Bah. I'm so much fun.
172 and counting for me. And I could care less what any of you think about that lol.
HA!! Nice. I swore that I would not use it for a while, but I finally grew tired of being killed by it all the time.
incorrect usage of this is a pet peeve of mine. You COULD NOT care less. Otherwise, you could, which makes it a weak statement.

Chock full of awesome sauce.
5 boltshot kills. Get on my no camo, non-camping, non-boltshot, level.
I call BS. Boltshot that is..
