well guys that was my last gt5 night.  Tired of the mics not working every week. And sick of Dan checking everyones settings . This is suppose to be a fun room.

Greg and Wheels, you guys raise a fair point about assists.  We should have the option to run any assist we want, including SRF.  As to Dan, don't worry about him.  I ran SRF and ABS-1 during the first F1 race last night and got a strong second place.  Dan was spectating and he commented on the SRF.  I turned it off after the race and got second again during the next race, with no SRF.  I also won the Mini race at Tsukuba with no SRF.  So, as I have stated before, I do not believe that SRF provides an unfair advantage to anyone and I think guys should have the option to use it, just as they use any other assist.  This is two straight weeks that I have proven that SRF makes little or no difference.  Yes, it gives you more stability when you are losing traction (like TCS does), but it also costs you speed (again, like TCS).  As an aside, I caught Dan "cheating" later last night.  He cut the last corner at Spa big time and managed to beat me by a second.  He also was using a tricked out Mini during one of our later races.  Do I care?  No.  But it also means I don't care about his trash talk, he is just trying to have fun.

There’s clearly more than skid recovery issues going on here so for what it’s worth you will not have to ask to remove skid recovery any more. I will allow it from the start. That said, we have NEVER stopped anyone from using SRF and it has been disabled almost every week for the past few months now…once someone asked for it or changed it themselves.

Just sent Dan an email begging him to stop commenting on people’s assists. But Craig is 100% correct just ignore his trash talk comments.

Have to agree to disagree..First things first..Tried to changed the assists but was locked (Maybe just for last night). Figured that was the way it is and decided that it wasn't for me. No Hard Feelings..No Hidden Issues!..No Hidden Agenda..No Issue with the Trash Talk (Love It)...All is Good!coolcoolcool

Wheels, I was able to use SRF for my first race, but that was probably after you jumped on.  I personally think that the F1 and other race cars are less fun in GT5 without SRF, because they are so much more prone to spinning on contact, even though they are faster.  I don't see the fun in spinning, hence I prefer to use SRF in GT5 and TCS in Forza 4 for the faster race cars.

Agree and Agree with Rusty...I like ALL you guys with the help and gifts (Vehicles and Tips) that you have given me..I am here to have fun but respect those that like a more challenging configuration or format when it comes to racing. Due to whatever...I am what you call Racing Challenged (Parallel with Mentally and Physically)...Not Up for certain tasks!...Maybe Someday!laughlaughlaugh

technically speaking you are right Wheels. last night Dan went in and forced every assist off and I didn't realize this until a couple races in. He will be disciplined and he also responded to my earlier email and his mouth will be shut regarding the assists people choose to use.

Will the discipline involve brass knuckles???laugh..I can't blame Dan for wanting his own format and please..NO MUZZLES..I LOve the Trash Talk!!!. I just NEVER understood why so many people state that individuals run SLOWER with assists but when it comes time to race they want all assists off. Damn if I was running with no assists I would bend over backwards and jump for glee if you wanted all the assists. Damn Brother...Take ALL of them...I know I can whip up your ass for at least a couple of seconds every lap MINIMUM!!!laughlaughlaugh

P. (Parcells) S (Sir). See YOU next week!!

P.S.S. Love the BS of the Assists Issue!!!

You caught me, I lied, there will be no discipline smiley

Chalk it up to poor timing because I've never seen him change these settings before and no doubt he was just screwing around. Now that I think about it I bet you he was trying to make me feel bad for using the racing line (its never worked on me before not sure why he thinks it would work now) because one of the earlier races I went out and finally noticed I had no race line and I questioned "what happened?". Bla bla bla (Dan got his dig in) and I promptly left the room and changed the setting.

btw - if it ever happens again just go under the "regulation" settings (furthest button on bottom right) and change the overrides yourself. You need to do this BEFORE you can turn assists on or off under the car settings options where the assists appear locked.

It's all good, now we just have to get Greg's mic/pedal issues worked out and for him and Dan to kiss and make up. Smoke a big one Greg, it can't hurt!

Gentlemen,

I meant to do this yesterday but forgot. No one submitted a spec car for this week so since we had so much fun running the Clios last week I figured we’d run them officially this week.

Of course I am past the cut off time so if anyone objects no worries but since there is absolutely nothing you can tune on this car I’m hoping you guys are OK with it. I’ll update the spreadsheet this evening.

I was able to get it last night.  I propose that we run it stock, with Racing Hard tires.  We can just pick the tracks as we go along.

Thoughts?

I like how you get real updates to the game on GT 5.

Also I belive that GTR came 3rd in its class at the ring.

That would be my suggestion.  We can just pick tracks as we go along.  No mods to the car, just buy it in the PSN store, and then we can use the Racing Hard default tires that come with it.  Guys can add whatever assists they want or need.

I'll just pluck something out of my garage that is the same PP and ensure I have the same tires.  I get home too late to DL, then get into the race.  Especially when I'm going to have to leave before 7:30 PDT tonight.  Got a Lupo touring car race at 8pm I need to attend to get my TC signoffs at R2P (V8 series I want to catch races requires a minimum of 3 TC races and a rating over 1.0).

I also will not have the DLC,  I suspect there will be others without it.

Hey guys,

Me thinks Parcells is going to take tonight off and essentially complete my three week hiatus from racing. Call it the off season if you will, just pretend I didn’t race last week.

Will be back next week for sure (will identify a spec car too), nothing more than a little break. Clean up my lounge and turn off the lights when you’re done tonight.

Hopefully my memory isn't too bad and I picked a car that handles well. Guess we'll see come Thursday. Went with the Mazda - Efini RX-7 Type R which we haven't raced since February of 2011. Spreadsheet updated, see you Thursday.

Went with all versions of Madrid to force Mark into learning the track!

Great racing last night,  I been in close races before but never that close, it was tough to be aggressive but not to aggressive, plus planning a pass for the win was awesome.

Hopefully more races like that next week.

Spreadsheet updated with this weeks car guys. Pretty sure we used this car before but I just grabbed a car I currently owned, upgraded it until it did what I wanted, and it turns out this weeks car is the Ford Focus ST 06. My car has over 300 miles on it so if your PP/HP is significantly lower than the posted I'll set restrictions...let me know.

Some odd track choices including one dirt and one snow track, should be a mess :)
