Farewell Major Olmsted P. II

The wall of men dressed in pressed green uniforms - men responsible for the nation's defense - sobbed and crumbled in the presence of the rectangular box draped in an American flag.

The burly men in leather jackets and bushy beards standing along the sides of the chapel wiped away tears as well. The parents of the man in the casket sat in the front row and held each other.

And the dead soldier's wife simply dropped her head and cried.

"Staff Sergeant Salas," 1st Sgt. William Schroeter barked, standing erect in the center aisle.

Coffin Conundrum

12/21/07 - 1st Call

12/28/07 - 2nd Call

01/03/08 - 3rd Call

01/11/08 - 4th Call

01/18/08 - 5th Call

Guess what?  STILL NO COFFIN to ship my broken Elite back for repairs.

During call #3, I was promised that someone would call me in 24-48 hours.  No call.

During call #4, I was told that someone would call in 3-5 days.  No call.

Now, during call #5, after I had been on hold for over an hour, I'm told that the "Supervisor" who "owns" my account, will be calling in 24-48 hours.

Gym Observations P. II

Besides the obvious, I can tell it is the beginning of a new year.  When I came into work the first day back from vacation, the lunch fridge was stocked full of Lean Cuisine.  Yeah, that'll last.

The other thing, is the huge influx of people in the gym.  I joined the gym before Xmas and hard started my working out then.  It was about a week before Xmas, and I went in, and there are 3 rows of elipitical machines.  There maybe 1-2 people per row.  Not a whole lot.

Now, I get off work at 4pm, so I beat the big rush that usually comes between 5pm-6pm.
