Woot!  New LCD screen and hard drive.  Unfortunately, the old HD was dead.  Fortunately, I'm fairly certain that I had backed up 95% of what was on it on my external HD.  Thank god for the foresight to purchase an extended warranty for the computer.

Thanks to drk_knight01 for securing me a coupon for the limited edition Spawn Spartan available only at ComicCon.  Woot!  Got it in the mail yesterday!

The United States dollar took another pounding on German, French and British exchanges this morning, hitting the lowest point ever known in Germany. It has declined there by 41% since 1971 and this Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least-appreciated people in all the earth.

As long as sixty years ago, when I first started to read newspapers, I read of floods on the Yellow River and the Yangtse. Who rushed in with men and money to help? The Americans did.

My computer died Saturday.  It won't boot-up.  Basically, it's dead.  No idea how or why.  It won't recognize the HD.

Now, it probably isn't the house, but, I'll just chalk it up to the house.  (4) AC kills.  (2) Refrigerator kills.  (1) Xbox kill.  (1) TV, and now, (1) laptop computer.  All in the past 3-4 years, and almost all fairly new electronics.

*Sigh*

Thank god it's on another item that I bought an extended warranty for.  I rarely buy them, but for the things I do buy them for, they've come in handy.
