Dealing with the Homeless

I used to work in a homeless shelter for a short while. Was my first salaried job actually, and while the pay was horrible, I believe my work was important. Unfortunately there were many things I could not do because there is so much work to be done. My main job was to keep the housing establishment safe and help elderly people apply for medicade and eventually move into assisted living homes, while helping others search for jobs. But much more needs to be done in a shelter.

How to act sophisticated: A guide to eating in a Fine-Dining Establishment

I realize some of you troglodytes have never been to a restaurant that doesnt have a dollar menu. In the interest of making the world a better place, Ill be teaching you barbarians how to be civilized in a fine-dining establishment much like Europeans tamed the savage injun and showed him how to wear underpants. It might hurt a bit and you could get small pox but wont you be so proud when you discover which fork is for what?

First things first, make sure you are wearing underpants. Ladies, for you ;;this is optional.

Tip of the Day...

My tip if the day is, TIP.

I saw the movie Waiting over the weekend and felt a connection to it. If you ever wondered what it was like to work in a restaurant/bar, that movie is a pretty accurate description...minus the goat...

But seriously, I see this as an opportunity to inform many of you cheapskates out there...and i know there are a few of you...to tip your waitstaff/pizza delivery guy/ bartender/ lady who cuts your hair. Im also here to chastise you cheap fucks who tip too little. Consider this a lesson in correct distribution of gratuity.

Loading Mercury with a Pitchfork

That’s what life has felt like for me lately. I’ve come to realize a few things about myself, and the company I keep. I’m really bad at picking friends. I have a policy, albeit its beginning to look like a poor one. When I meet or speak with someone for the first time, I assume they’re “good people.” This is starting to backfire on me.

Oblivion Review

Reviewing Oblivion

Oblivion, Bethesda’s fourth and latest edition of The Elder Scrolls saga, released March 21st to this author’s delight. Oblivion is a role playing game, like the previous editions, that is so vast and open the developer claims it takes over 200 hours of gameplay to complete everything the game has to offer. This is a conservative estimate. So far I have played for 60 hours and I feel as though I’m no closer to the end of the game then when I began.
