Comic in stores today

So, back from San Diego Comic Con.  What a crazy experience.  Had a lot of fun and made some good contacts, but don't think I'll be going back any time soon.  Too damn crowded.  Any way, that comic I did colors for hit stores today, Grimm Fairy Tales #40 by Zenescope Entertainment.  If you happen to be near a comic shop stop by and check it out.

Here's a preview:

Grimm Fairy Tales

So I recently finished up work doing colors for issue #40 of Grimm Fairy Tales for Zenescope Entertainment and it is due to hit stores next week on 7/22.  I did all the interior colors as well as one of the variant covers which will be a limited run, San Diego Comic Con exclusive.  I'm very happy with how the issue looks and am stoked to be working with Zenescope.  I should have some more stuff in the works with them and I have also been working with Bob Burden, creator of Flaming Carrot and Mystery Men, doing color work for him.

Project Rooftop

Took some time out today to whip up a quick piece for the Project Rooftop contest and try to get in just under the deadline. This time the challenge was to redesign Wolverine. Kinda fun to do, but I wish I had known about it sooner so I could've put more time into it.

Sketch dump

Not much going on these days.  Been doing some sketching and painting.  Making more time to play video games.  I have a huge stack of 360 games I bought and started but never finished, been woking my way through those.  Rented and played through Dead Space, that game was insane.  Playing RE5 right now and so far Dead Space blows it away in pretty much every way.  Sure no co-op, but that really doesn't affect me since I play so late at night it isn't really an option anyway.

Clumsy Love

Finally saw Watchmen.  As someone who has read the graphic novel many, many times over the years and loves it I was really looking forward to this movie but worried it just couldn't pull it off.  It's not really an easy thing to translate into a film.  I have to say though that it's probably the best anyone could have done with the source material.  Overall I'd say I really enjoyed the movie, the altered ending didn't bother me like it thought it would.  I think the only thing that did bother me was the fight scenes.  Not that they weren't cool, just that they made these people seemingly su

Another speedpainting

Been feeling a little burned out on the projects I've been working on lately so I figured the best way to re-energize was to do a speedpainting. Spent a little more time on it than I planned, around 3 hours, but I was really into it. Now to go work on what I should have been working on...
