End of Holiday

Well, the lumbering boys have departed for the snow covered land of NM.  The Xbox live experience and new COD3 game was a big hit and the majority of their time was playing one or the other.  Thanks, Soup for showing them how to get started!  They even had a LAN party with a friend on New Years.  He brought his new PS3 and they were able to have everyone and my SO play H2 ALL NIGHT.  Okay, that is a bit of an exageration, just till 3 am.  Me, I was in bed by 11 and asleep (surprisingly enough with all the noise) by 11:10.  Yep, I'm a fuddy duddy.  But, I was sad to see them go.

Eragon review

Hmm. To begin with, I have to admit I was curious as to the how a 15 year old would construct a fantasy story. There is a STRONG resemblence to the Star Wars plot. A young man who is raised by an uncle. (Eragon) The village is part of an empire that is run by someone who was part of a legion of dragon riders and then betrayed them. (Galbatorix) There is a group of people who are considered the resistance to the evil king and a young woman holds the key to their survival (Arya and the dragon egg) There is also a mentor to the young man (Brom).

Let me Introduce myself

I suppose that I should give a little background on myself since I've started posting. Otherwise, I can see people asking, "Who the hell is this chick?" Ok, fair enough. I am a Husker fan at heart and always will be. Be that good or bad, doesn't matter. I am recently married to a certifiable geek who also has two boys, 12 and 16, who are also geek-like, but in a cool way. All three of them are big gamers.

Xbox Live at last

Thanks to SoupNazzi, the boys are now playing Halo online.  They both got their gamertags and began playing. Now it is a matter of shutting them off.  But, I have to admit, they play awfully well. I'm actually looking forward to my turn sometime next week.

Off to see Eragon tomorrow.  Hopefully, it is better than the critics have given it credit.  Most movies usually are.  I was tempted to get the book, but decided to wait until after the movie to see if I would be motivated enough to read that particular volume.

They're Hereeee!

The boys have arrived and found COD3 in their stocking and have already played many hours. Now, thanks to my brother (SoupNazzi) they are enjoying the finer points of playing Halo on Xbox Live! I'm trying to absorb all of this information for my own use after they leave so I too can learn!

I'm finally online

Significant Other (SO) finally connected to Xbox Live so the kids could play when they come for the week. Of course, it was earlier than he planned since he had started the process and stopped. Well, by stopping, it prevented all Xbox original games to not play. So, now we log in with his gamertag. Since I don't play the CODs and Halos, I can't mess up his game play and standings. But, I finally got to play UNO. It was just as I remembered playing soooo many years ago. I still lose! So, I tried Texas Holdem. Think I could do better? Hehehe. NOT.
