The underappreciation of 'B' movies

Last night the monthly dinner party was at our house and we chose to do BBQ&B.  Barbeque and B movies.  Dastard grilled some brat patties, brats and hamburgers and the others brought side dishes.  We had a full house and it was a blast.  We watched the 1958 version of "The Blob."  It was hilarious especially if you listen to the opening music and lyrics.  Poor McQueen, his dialog sounded as if George Lucas wrote it.  Everyone was making comments during the show and just added to the hilarity.

New Arrival!!

Yes, Dastard and I are expecting..

We will be welcoming his oldest son tonight.  He is moving in with us.  More later, I don't want to jinx his arrival.  Since he isn't here yet, too many things can change from now until his plane arrives.  The house is ready and so is his room.  I'm looking forward to this endeavor with some apprehension and giddiness.  If nothing else he will be someone else to practice Shadowrun and CoD 2!!

Irritated

This has been a tiring week.  I was a participant in a workshop that began last Wednesday and will end tomorrow at noon.  I also paid for 2 graduate credit hours ($700+) to attend this workshop.  My participation for the grade was the first Wed and Thurs.  the rest of the time was spent listening to company reps trying to sell their product.  Now, all of these products were related to the topic of the workshop but come on, I have to pay to attend this?  To make matters worse, this was a required core course for my degree, so I had to put it on my program of study.  I am furious that  I had to

Busy, busy

I am involved with a workshop this week that began last Wednesday and runs until this Friday.  I am exhausted but meeting new people.  So, if you see my gt online, it is not me.  My stepson will play Dastard and they use both boxes when playing ShadowRun.  He is leaving this week and I'm sad.  I really enjoy having him around to game with.  Hopefully, he won't be gone for long (cross fingers).

Have a good day!

Thoughts for the day

I am in the process of reading a new book about Unit 731.  During WWII and before, Japan had an organization that was responsible for research into defense and offense against biological weapons and Unit 731 was a large part of it.  This research began before the US was involved and Japan was warring with Russia and China.  Some of the research involved frostbite, plague, typhus and others.  Some were transmitted by insects (fleas and ticks) and others were by direct contact.  The importance of this Unit was that the research involved human test subjects, mostly Chinese POW or citizens.  Human
