A lot of people have been complaining about how slow the site is lately and the reason we didn't look into it sooner is because the site has been blazing fast for most of us. See, the staff almost only uses Fire Fox to browse and for us a page load will take around 1-2 seconds. The issue seems to only be affecting Internet Explorer users.

OK since the points system has gone live, I have received a lot of questions as to what its really all about. So, here it is...

Q: What is the Point of the Points system?

I cant stop adding features!  Anyway, the comments in the news section can now be moderated by the community.  How you rate the comments will have an effect on what kinda of points a person receives for that comment.  Also, if you go into your account sections, you will see a tab for configuring your comments.  Here you can set a threshold on each comments and decide whether or not you want to view the points for that comment.  This is so, if you want, you can decide to only see comments with +2 points or great.  This comes in very handy if you see spam or some other lame comment.  The more yo

I am currently looking to retool the home page to showcase more of the community here at 2old2play. The first step was adding User Videos to the main page. If you look at the homepage podcast box on the right hand side of the site, you will see tabs above it. One is for the latest podcast and the other will now show the latest 3 user submitted videos.

So my last post showed how videos will be displayed on your homepage and what a couple of the new features will mean for 2o2p. Well last night I decided to take it a little further and add the latests Videos to your blog. Of course you probably don't have videos uploaded yet, so we can use our example from last night. So if you read the last 5 blog posts of mine you will see that I have slowly but surely been adding new features to the "Home Page" member area that all users have now. Well, I have also been working with getting our new video feature up and ready for the SCC members as well. As such, a couple of members have helped me test the uploading of video onto the site.

Ok, the info is almost all up and ready to go. I have finally added Latest 10 Forum Posts to the list of things on your home page. Now members can check out all of other members content on the site in one single location. Once the photo gallery and videos sections are launched, you will also be able to check that out as well. Now comes the task of making it all work in IE. I hate you Microsoft.

Ok, I was working on latest blogs all last night for the member home page and it turns out I was missing 2 errors the whole time.  D helped me out and now that is live as well.  So if anyone checks your home page, they can see your latest 10 blogs, comments, and news submission's.  Up next?  Forum posts.
