Even More

Well, I added even more stuff to the account area last night.  First, if you go to anyone's blog you should now see a link under their gamer picture that says View Profile Homepage.  This will now link each and every blog to that persons home page.  Once all the info is ready it will display their blogs, forum posts, videos, and pictures as well as comments and news.  As always, you can only view that area in Fire Fox, but I will be working on IE tonight.

Screaming Right Along

As I said in my last post, I am currently working on an over haul of the account/messages page. Well, I'm actually speeding along a lot faster then I first thought. If you look now the blog profiler, the comments settings, the edit info page, and the accounts page are all successfully styled and integrated. Remember, it will ONLY work in Fire Fox or Mozilla browsers. So if you take a peek in IE, you will see a total mess. Anyway, I figured I would just share the progress with you guys.

Totally New Account Page (%20)

Well, I'm about a 3rd of the way done with the new look of the Account page. At this point in time it is only viewable in Fire Fox/Mozilla browsers while I tweak the look. I always design for Fire Fox first since Internet Explorer is just so damn screwy. So, if you click on Your Account in the user box or go to http://www.2old2play.com/modules.php?name=Your_Account you should be able to see what I'm talking about.

First Test a Success

Well, looks like the new server is working great.  We are currently on digg and things are running just fine.  I see a tiny slow down but its not even as bad as NOT being on digg with the old server.  So it looks like things are going great so far.  Yes the ladder is still down, but please be patient as we try and solve the issue.  We are also having trouble with some emails from the site and being be able to register.  I hope we can get this all ironed out over the weekend.  Again, thanks for everyone that has made this upgrade possible.

Can You Say Holy Shit?

Notice the speed of the site today? Seems really fast I hope. That's because we finally launched our brand new super fast dedicated server. No more slow ass crashing site every 2 min. WOOOOOHOOOOO

Account Area Going Through Changes

The Private Message and Account area will be going through some major graphical changes over the next couple weeks as we move over to the new server.  There is no need to send in any site bugs or error reports for these areas since I am most likely the one who caused them and will be aware of it as well.

The New Server Is Here!!!!

Oh wow. Im so excited and nervous at the same time. We finally went all out on a new Dual Core 3.4 Ghz dedicated server for 2old2play. I was always scared to make such of move for the site since I knew the cost would be something to fear. Well, after so many countless down times and server explosions with the site we just had to go all in.

We Have a new Cookie

Since we rewrote the urls to make things easier, we also had to write out a new cookie for remembering your log-in.  The reason for this was because our old cookie didn't handle sub-domains like http://blog.2old2play.com or even http://2old2play.com.  Instead it would log you into to only one of the adresses and hold your info.  Now, where ever you log it, it should be able to hold your data across all domains on 2old2play.  So you will be able to access all threads, account info, and pages from one log in.

Easier Feeds and URLs For Blogs (updated)

We always hated the way the urls for blogs were built. They seemed hard to remember and just plain old useless. So today, Dsmooth and I rewrote all the blog URLs for better "usability" with our members. We also rewrote the URLS for your RSS feeds and the blog stats as well. So, without further adieu we give you the new easy to remember URLS. Remember to update your sigs and other places you post your blog URLS! (The examples below are for my blog, so just replace your username where you see mine.)
