Hmmm, power's been out for 3 hours and no end in sight. The height of the wind storm is yet to come, though there is a bit of a lull at the moment. My availability for Fri. night is in jeopardy.
After all that, glad you're able to at least report, Deep! Looks like the worst may be over except for Newfoundland. Here's hoping they get you back up and running by this evening, depending on how bad the electrical grid got hit.
"Yellow alert" alt request for now. Eater of Worlds main boss encounter: shooting elemental flaming balls.
Hell had a baby!
We worked on trying to find roles and how to coordinate fire. We learned a lot on our own and consulted external sources to make sense of it all. It ain't going to be easy.
We played the field last night. First we went into the Raid Lair as far as the boss save point, just for the Calus tokens. Then we went to the Castelum for the same thing and found the Gauntlet is this weeks starting level. Since we hadn't completed it yet, we gave it a go. By evenings end, we managed two short group runs in the Gauntlet.
Mixing it up was a good idea, Deep! I think we're capable of finishing the Gauntlet if we can figure out that last group run. I wonder if it would be easier on our addled brains to pick 4 dedicated runners and let the other 2 take a break.
Remember that if one member goes down during the 3 initial runs, then 5 must make it thru the group run. If 2 or more go down in the initial runs then all 6 must make it thru. Been awhile since I did this, but I believe that all 6 must pick up an orb to successfully start the group run (remembering that one time when one team member didn't and we all took gas).
Assuming that no one went down in the first 3 runs then I suppose that "priority" could be given to the top 4 runners. Note I believe that once out, the 2 that died must be revived immediately by 2 of the 4 remaining runners for the Gauntlet to successfully complete.

Thanks Achy. It all but confirms we will never complete this. lol
True, but at what cost? 2 hours x 3 a week? x4? That's what it seems we need, repition. I know that I need constant repition on this Raid to keep its many facets locked in my head. It will go down as my most hated Raid.
The killer has been the weekly random rotation of the main Raid sections. Benefit of sticking with the Gauntlet tonight is that it's the one section (other than the last) that we haven't finished at least once. My hope is that if we can get the Gauntlet down, we might have a chance at doing the first 3 sections of the Raid in one night someday. Eater of Worlds at least doesn't have the rotation problem, but I didn't mind a break from it, since it has its own difficulties.

I'm feeling optimistic about the Gauntlet. We had quite a few group runs around the Gauntlet. Now if we can just figure out how to get everyone through alive.
Friday Jan 26, 2018; Tuesday Jan 30, 2018; and Friday Feb 2, 2018. I plan to be in sunny Arizona visiting my mother (also hoping that the slight cough I have today isn't going to get worse, or if it does, please let it hit me now so I can be well by next Friday!)
Darth joined us tonight. We took him to the boss check point in the Raid Lair. Then we completed the Royal pools and finished up by showing Darth some of the Rair Lair boss section.
DEEP, if you see me on (even in another game), you can always shoot me an invite/message. I'll be happy to join if I can - I enjoy playing with the group.

OK. I'm sure Duke has seen this post. He makes the final call. We look for over 50 peeps first then spread out.

This goes for me too. I've been diving deep into FFXV, but I'd hop over and play D2 with you guys if you're short.

Possible alt. I'm working tonight until an hour before your start. If everything goes well, I'll be home and on at start time.
Don't know if this is possible given DEEP's situation but if you guys know you need me prior to start time, please message me on XBL.
Looks like everything is up and running. Internet seems to check out.
Lost power for 20 hours. Cooked on a camp stove we bought last summer just for outages. Pre-cognition?
Learned that life is very boring without electricity and Internet. Candles and Scrabble are not enough.
Will be getting a small generator soon, just for rechargeable equipment.
That's why God invented sex ... just sayin'
Welcome back to the 21st Century, Deep! Thanks for the alt offer, Blam. Will let you know if I get any other advance absence notices.

The boosting of the minimum light levels on the main raid was pretty frustrating as well. Just when we could manage the Pool, Bungie upped the antie.
Looks like we may need an alt tonight if anyone wants to run the Gauntlet.

You guys have made clearly made a huge amount of progress since the last time I ran it with you.
Advance notice alt request for:

I'm available all those dates, but happy to take turns with other possible alts as well.

Pretty good evening.
Thanks for letting me tag along, as it was nice to finally get a look at the Lair. I'm always happy to play when you need to fill a spot. Good times!
Didn't know you guys needed someone.
I have to remember to set myself online when I am not recording
