Oldshool let's ask something here though, if you knew a tool was available to use in a project that could certainly enhance the ability to create more enriching things would you at least like to have it available to use? If you knew everyone would have it would have it would you at least look into how cost efective it would be to create things using it?

Hell look at movies like GAMER with Gerard Butler. The Kinect, The Eye, and the Wii are steps to that possibility, the first to be sure. Before that were games like Photon and Lazer Tag. Since the Eye,Kinect and Wii U are using the technlogy in a second generation they at least see some value in it.

Look at other things that are trying to remove the human element for the benefit of humanity. Self driving cars is one that comes quickly to mind. Robots who are used to difuse bombs or go into highly radioactive areas that would hurt or kill humans in the same situation.

Is there a difference between the two? Yes there is, but one (the Eye and Kinect) are already helping advance the robot, it seems to me that that can go both ways as well.

Seems like most times I've bought a retail LIVE kit, it's come with a mic anyway.  Not really a big deal.

Astro has said they're working with MS to try to get some sort of adapter - otherwise they may do a trade in system on old headphones.

My thing is, it'd be really clunky to have something in between a 2.5mm audio plug and a USB plug that would translate it.

Wouldn't be too bad.  I have a logitech adapter that came with a headset so I could use it with a USB port.  Its not very big at all.  The adapter that is.  Sick asses!

If anyone is interested in the standard mic, its $29.99, and GS is taking pre orders for them.

Lol Deep... Hubby already complains that I'm too loud and swear too much. If he had to hear the whole party, I suspect my Xbox would mysteriously disappear one day. I had visions of myself YELLING call outs.. I'd be sitting across a large room from the kinect..as it is, with my mic right against my mouth, you guys don't hear me half the time. I spend half the game saying "I just said that!" when someone louder repeats my call out lol!

@ Tdrag I exclusively use the cheap basic headsets. So do my brothers and several of our friends. Having both ears covered is weird! And I do have a tendency to throw things...

Well yeah, because the cost of filling up the holes you make in drywall can get expensive.

I'm down with this.

Nobody in game listens to me anymore. Broadening the pool of potential recipients of my mindless drivel to include all spouses/offspring/moms just makes my dream of alienating the entire species that much closer to reality.

Eff headsets.

Forgive the question, I haven't been spending every waking moment exploring the minute details of the new Xbone....

Will Xbone support Bluetooth?  If so, isn't that a superior alternative to the current scheme and possibly, given the wide variety of BT accessories available, the reason why a headset isn't included?

No bluetooth, and they changed up the inputs on the controller to force consumers to buy new accessories. There's talk of adapters, but unless they are giving them away I still see it as a just another way to squeeze every last dime from the consumer. I mean they want 29.99 for that piece of shit? Imagine what the "real" headsets will cost.

It's also a different type of connection then used previously which may have necessitated the need for new types of inputs.  Seriously...do you ever have anything positive to say about the new Xbox?  Also...to say the new headset is shit when you have not yet even had one in your hand is silly.  I also imagine the new fancy headsets will cost what they do now...from $99 to $300.

you do realize you sound nothing but biased and MS hating here, right?  You can't expect someone to take the tirade seriously.

Wifi Direct is better than Bluetooth.  It transfers more data faster and over longer distances.  So, less input lag - which people were talking about recently.  MS didn't even sell much that plugged into the controller for audio anyway.  the $10 headset, or a chat pad.  Most all else was third party stuff.  Adapters - this would be through the third parties, again.  So, nothing for MS to gain there.

You've not even seen the headset in person, let alone touched or used it, and you call it a piece of shit.  My logitech PC headset also cost ~$30.  This will be used for higher quality Skype calls, as you can do on a PC.  You use so much hyperbole in your rants it's hard to keep any actual bits of facts straight.

edit:  ha, looks like you beat me to it:

Why all the hate? You know there is no DRM now due to people like you.

Are you even getting the X1?

Do you even care about it?

Try not to be a Debbie Downer all the time. Some people are actually looking forward to the X1 and are getting fed up of seeing certain people trying to tell everyone how much we are getting ripped off and shafted by MS all the fucking time. Like seriously

"Thanks to a proprietary connection to the controller, existing Xbox 360 headsets will not be directly usable on the Xbox One. Turtle Beach, however, has said that it will be providing an adapter that lets its Xbox One headsets work on Xbox 360 controllers, proving that such inter-compatibility is possible with extra hardware."

okay, reading that again, it's a backwards compatible adaptor, but hell, if it can go one way, it can go the other?

I haven't raged and or spewed any hate on anyone. I posted a link and offered my opinion. I don't need to have my hands on the headset to see that it's just a remake of the old default headset with a puck attached to it..and I think if you're honest with yourselves you can see that as well. Now, if one of you buys one and has a differing experience, I'd love to hear it. Until then however, I'll stick with my initial estimation, which by your own admissions seem to correlate with your own with statements like "Did anyone use the kit mic anyway".

CPRO, yes I do care about the Xbox One as my family and I pre ordered our own Day One edition the moment I found out about Microsoft dropping the DRM restrictions on the console.Which is more than I can say for most of the people on this site claiming to be such supporters and so excitied for it's release. We disagreed with the DRM and didn't preorder the console, effectively voting with our family's dollars....so when the company listened and changed policies we in turn voted again...this time in favor of the console.

I am a Xbox customer and as such care quite a bit about the quality of the next gen console I have been eagerly awaiting as well. However, that means that if the company does something that I don't agree with, I'm going to say something about it, because as we have seen with the removal of DRM, we do have the ability to shape this console and oppose practices we don't agree with.

Perhaps all the supporters who are accusing me of only posting negative things about the console could actually add some constructive content to the site painting the console in a positive light? You know instead of attacking me and others personally in the threads they started...but I guess that's just how things go round' here. So keep bashing me and I'll keep posting my opinions. At least now people are actually on the forums, you know...the place where we're supposed to voice our opinions....on this adult website.

To be pointedly honest, your original post was quite negative from the get go. Whatever.

I was all set to order mine day one and then Microsoft waffled, apparently inan attempt to make you, and others admittedly, happy.

Now I'll wait until they're released, you know, in case they wafflle again. I want to make sure what I buy is what I end up with...

Just out of curiosity Azure...What do you find appealing about the XB 1?

The majority of features that I found appealing have been removed (so far). The main reason I am choosing an XB 1 is that is where the majority of my friends play. Since I play very, very little single player games the draw of interesting single player games does not have any draw on me. The main feature (for a lack of a better term) that does still appeal to me is the cloud computing infrastructure MS is creating. It is one way MS has put into place a way to keep the "gaming power" of the XB 1 continually improving for years to come. Not to mention the possibility of their games using dedicated servers instead of the P2P structure they have had in place.

Actually I was working on a piece for the front page about the Azure cloud and PS4's promised Gaikai cloud which leans quite favorably for Microsoft. However I'm scrapping it entirely. I'm done generating any content on the subject and am looking forward to someone else being the site's whipping boy for a while. There's absolutely no motivation for anyone to generate content if the authors are going to be abused as I and others have been in these threads.

Maybe instead of questioning my interests you should be dealing with the people who have been personally attacking your members. Or are you only a "Douchebag" moderator to the non-xbox fanboy members? I see Dank opened his mouth again and nothing's done. Don't know what I expected though considering the track record around here.

Azure.  Dude.  Take a step back.  I understand tweaking the nose of the opposition, or someone that likes something you don't like, or whatever, but the nose is tweaked.  After all, we're talking about video games.

Uh, defensive much?  Seems like LB was asking a sincere question - considering you "proved" you are buying one (btw I also preordered the PS4, but canceled it later).  He's probably wondering what you like about it.
