Actually, Autarch's last post had a link to a discussion of possible issues with the  XOne...but you go ahead and bash without reading it all, you know, cause it's easier...

I never said that his link didn't have anything negative to say. What I said was when anyone else says anything about the Xbone he and shadow jump on them. How about going back and reading the threads and see for yourself. It's actually sad how obvious of a pattern it is. Autarch is the first one to comment, followed by Shadow every single time.

Also in response to the wired video, all I can say is great! Now every Timmy on the planet has access to this webcam. Yeah....that's going to end well.

I linked a zero punctuation video for fuck's sake. Everyone knows the guy's going to take a piss out of the consoles in the video. It's what he does. Yet once again Autarch's gotta drop his snarky two cents in reply telling me where my post belongs. Guess I should have typed "Very Informational"  in italics...I mean I could have been seriously bashing the consoles right? crying

Last time I checked I didn't see admin or mod next to the guy's name. Guess the talk about moobs belongs here, but nothing negative about the consoles.

Just because the guy linked a outdated negative thread from a message board once gives him a pass for bashing on us though eh? You know...cause it's easier.

uh, not sure why i'm being dragged into this.  If you want an equal comparison on the flipside, there's you and Cryptic shitting on the One back and forth at every turn.  Sorry Cryptic, didn't mean to drag you into this......

Not the thread for this.  One already got locked.  Keep this to links and real info.  /out

The yield/proc issue has been rumored for about 9 months now, so please do not think this is a new or recent developement. Now that does not mean they have found a fix for it or if their is truly an issue. I just want the proper perspective put into place about it.

In fact this rumor was the exact reason I brought up/asked turing our TnT show if they would be using actually XB 1's or dev units during E3.

I have read  all the thread, and the others as well. If you feel he's bashing on you, you've got issues. Has he been defending the system, assuredly, but not at anyone's expense.

If you're that desperate for an opponent I hear there's a stubborn windmill the next hill over. I don't have time for imagined, implied or inferred affronts. And this crap is exactly what doesn't belong in here...

How about the accusation that the presentation wasn't real time UI but recorded? Has anyone heard anything to actually prove or disprove that? I gotta tell you, that would truly piss me off.

How hard is it to keep a topic on track?

I though this was for links only. If everyone is going to get on each other again someone might aswell open the locked topic back up. I wanted a topic like this so I did not have to read though bullshit and just have a list of links and some information to make my own mind up on how epic the X1 may be

Further update from Major Nelson on the controller - https://twitter.com/majornelson/status/342633243763425280

This was also later updated to reflect its actually MICRO USB and not Mini USB.  That was confirmed by him on twitter too.

if you look at the controller it's obviously Micro.  Didn't realize that was a question.  Cool that you can switch if you need to.

Okay, dumb question, what's the difference tween mini and micro? Guessing one's newer...

Also, many of us racers prefer the wired controller, so this sounds like a good thing for both sides of the issue?

micro is smaller and looks almost flat, like a curved dash on the end.  Mini is almost like a trapezoid in shape, and is larger.

This:  “With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies."

This: "It's worth noting that Microsoft allows you to gift games to friends but they can't borrow them."

and This: "If you don’t want the Kinect sensor on while playing games or enjoying your entertainment, you can pause Kinect. To turn off your Xbox One, just say 'Xbox Off.' When the system is off, it’s only listening for the single voice command -- 'Xbox On,' and you can even turn that feature off too. Some apps and games may require Kinect functionality to operate, so you’ll need to turn it back on for these experiences."

Your personal data will never be available to anyone outside of your console, Microsoft stressed. "You can play games or enjoy applications that use data, such as videos, photos, facial expressions, heart rate and more, but this data will not leave your Xbox One without your explicit permission."

are all reasons it is looking like I will not be buying Xbox1.

I've been an Xbox supporter since year one.  Been on live for 10 years. Still have my original xbox hooked up and my kids regularly play it(ok so I still play it too), had a 360 elite which lasted just over 5 years before giving me the rrod the day after Thanksgiving last year, and I immediately went out and bought a new one to replace it.  I love the games and the people I've played with over the years on various games from this site.

But I don't want all that shit to deal with.  I want to download, drop a disc, or blow on a damn cartridge and play a game.  Sorry microsoft.

Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers. Microsoft does not receive any compensation as part of this. In addition, third party publishers can enable you to give games to friends."

I think this is interesting, just like the always on DRM stuff, they're basically saying they're giving publishers the tools to enable DRM, lock out used game sales and what not if THE PUBLIISHER chooses to.  Essentially washing their hands of the whole thing.

I don't like the "have to connect every 24 hours" to continue playing thing. It's like we're all being accused of something?

And I KNOW it's probably something that will never affect me, but it still irritates...

I agree on the DRM/used market/publishers issue and again, it won't affect me, I've never bought a used game. I did give out a copy of Forza 3 a while back, and the giving/lending thing is far more likely to affect me.

And I still think it's One Live account per Console. I'm betting if I have One Live Account and two Consoles, I'll have to have that second account even if it IS my son playing on it. (Have seen nothing concrete on this and am not crying doom, yet.)

Greatly appreciate all the information gathered here.

From what I think you're saying, it does seem to me that an Xbox Live account can't be signed into multiple consoles at once.  Just like today on Xbox 360.

However, up to 10 people can be covered by the new family system, which allows any of them to play the games even if they are on a different console.  Access your entire library of games wherever you or your family signs in?  That sounds better than the system today.

If you were looking to buy one game and have someone else play it offline forever for free while you play on your console on your profile I don't think that will work.  Just like today on Xbox 360 if I have my Halo 4 disc in my console and I'm playing Matchmaking, someone can't be signed into me and playing online.  One would be disconnected as the other signed in.  And they can't play my disc game offline, because I am using it.  Works similar across both.

Just lending is not in for launch, but coming later.

Also no word yet on any kind of pricing for the console or Live and what is allowed by paid or free Live memberships.  So any complaints that they are screwing people over because of Live sub costs is at this point without any basis on reality and the facts.  Speculation can place it either cheaper for families or much more expensive, and guesses can be made of course, but making an actual decision based on knee jerkiness and panic is the set course for some I'm sure.

Gee, you got all that from what I wrote and totally missed my point.

I have a family plan now, and all 4 accounts can be played on 4 different boxes at the same time. Do that with your Xbone.

I'm coming around to the view voiced elsewhere, you are a putz.

I'm not sure your issue.  You had to pay for 4 accounts to do that, Family Plan or not.  It just happened to be cheaper for you at the one point - but they don't offer that plan anymore.  With the One, you only pay for one account, not 4, or 10.

I don't know how it'll work with accounts and other boxes.  I don't think they mentioned that.

I'm sorry my attempted explanation offended you.

I was simply trying to express that there is nothing official that says you can not have family members play on other xbox one consoles.

There is however this verbage that I already linked to above:

Give your family access to your entire games library anytime, anywhere: Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games.  You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time.

Feel free to continue name calling as I try and explain official information that is relevant to your question as best I can.

yeah saw that graphic earlier.

Just got done podcasting and discussed it with my fellow casters.

Being totally real here (no fanboy):

Not super worried about pinging a server when I boot up.  Considering I'm never not logged into Live, and if I'm on the road I always connect to wifi or shared off my phone to keep Live synced with my profile anyway for Achievement reasons (lost achievements before and that was not fun).  So not a deal for me, really.  But I do understand why it is for some poor people (who are buying $400 consoles....?) and military.  Internet caps are not an issue here as pinging will not take much data at all.

Can't disconnect the sensor.  So......?  I never touch anything after I connect it anyway.  It's there.  Done.

Lend Games, Rent Games - this is bullshit.  They'd better have a system in place to rent downloaded games for a reasonable price.  Otherwise they are going to lose a ton of money because I'll be buying a system where I can rent games and let my friends borrow them.  The only thing I can think is if you can have your "10 family members" be any gamertag.  Because then all my friends could just be "family members".

I don't know any independent game shops, except "People Play Games" here in Chicago - and that's all vintage stuff.  Any other shop is a major retailer.  Gamestop mostly.  So, this is moot.

This last part is bullshit.  Have to be friends on XBL for 30 days?  WTF does that matter?  Can only sell once and then the game is a dud forever?  So, the friend uses it and then they should just throw it away since it's worthless.  Can't sell on craigslist because you'd have to have a 30 day waiting period.  Same as ebay.  Amazon is done for used games.

WTF Microsoft.

Didn't  the IGN Video say that your "Family" could only use your library for free when they used your "Primary" Xbone? That essentially fucks my family. We each have our own 360, having just bought my daughter hers that is 4 in total. Now can you please explain to me how this is a good idea for Micro$oft considering it's basically cutting it's own throat by making it much less appealing to buy multiple consoles for your home?

honestly I'm not totally clear on that.  Right now I don't have a "primary" console - I have one for the living room and one for the bedroom.  All the same stuff is on each, including my gamertag.  I don't know how that would even be designated.  And then to lend a game to your friend, you could just swap boxes, right?

If you're just one person using multiple boxes won't be a problem. But the problem comes in when there's multiple members of your family gaming at the same time. Not to mention the fact that now instead of paying for 1 family sub, we have to pay for 4....unless we want to all use the same box, which would be impossible.

But for me honestly, as I stated before without Gamefly it's nail meet coffin time. Although it is kind of vindicating to see that all the DRM and intent to kill off rental companies was as true as I and others said it was. Guess those tin foil hats can be repurposed for some doggie bags?
