You're the second person whining about noise from the CD tray.  I don't find it loud or intrusive at all.

So.... you got a 'good' one.  I did not.  I don't have any other disc based consumer electronics that make anywhere near the noise MY 360 makes when spinning discs.  Thats why i install everything on it.

I've got an old model.  It may spin loud; I'm just apparently tone deaf.

this game is going to be freaking awsome!!! I cant see as to why something "installed" would run worse than something being read off a disk.. but most things that happen on a computer are witchcraft to me anyway:)

You can install the first disk to a flash drive and the other to the hdd. It's so the xbox had to media's to read from where if everything is on the hdd it only has one point.

ahhh, now thats a good idea.  I'll give that a try if the noise becomes too much.

Have my copy and enjoying it quite a bit.

One thing that sucks however, is that since I don't have a smart phone, I can't do any of the Chop mini game things. Hope he can still be trained in the game without the app...otherwise my Franklin will be at a disadvantage.

I think that stuff is just for the iPHone too so even if you had a smartphone, it would need to be an iPhone, not android or windows or blackberry.  Seems pretty narrow in scope, hopefully they can just make a web enabled game so you can do that stuff in a browser.

Yeah, the Droid and Windows phone version is coming out soon. No word on a release for use without a smart phone.

That said, the sheer size of this game is impressive. I thought Michelle was going to pee herself when I had a Hindenburg moment with my pre order blimp as I tried to land it on top of one of the skyscrapers.

Also the IOS app is not working correctly. I think they are beta testing the App with IPhone then releasing it to all after bugs have been sorted.

Heh, was just going to ask if anybody's tried it and if it adds anything to the game. I have an Android phone and an iPad, but I'll just wait for the Android version to come out (assuming it's improved over this current version).

Sent an hour last night flying around in a chopper and just looking at the scenery.  IT's pretty amazing, even landing on a litle island and listening to the ocean sounds are right on the money.  I have't played too much of the core game yet, but the environment is stunning, even the water is probably the best in-game water i've seen.

Am I the only one who finds this game disgusting in the way it treats women? I am not buying it on those grounds. I have played GTA 1 - 4, I stopped part way through 4. I was like this isn't right...should I really be enjoying other people's exploitation. I just feel like saying shame on you rockstar games for glorifying some of these things. So people get all upset about a rape game in Japan but running over hookers is okay?

As this is a game for adults and absolutely does not claim to be anything but a parody of the worst stereotypes in and of us all, I don't see this as a problem.Yes some of the female characters are cock gobbling big breasted dimwits...but sadly (depending on how you look at it) these women actually exist and it's not some Rockstar creation. We all know not every black person on the planet speaks in izzle, and not every Russian will be a third world gangster. If you really pay attention to the story lines of these games you'll see that most of the main characters in them lament their situations and try everything they can to escape their fate. The overall story is usually quite profound and I for one have yet to play one that didn't rival most if not all movies that are produced these days.

As was stated already, this is not a kill a hooker simulator and no where in the story do I have to go and beat/kill a hooker to progress in the game. Yes, you can pick up a hooker, and bang her to regain your health. Prostitutes exist in real life, and are sucking/fucking every day. Nowhere in the health regeneration mechanic does it require you to kill said hooker after the services are rendered.

Now, many players do beat the hooker to death and reclaim their money. However, I think you're missing the part where these same style of players beat, run over, maim, and kill innocent men as well. This is a true sandbox game, which by definition simply means that Rockstar has given you a world in which you can interact...the rest is up to you. If you want to play your character as someone who would never visit and or kill a hooker, you're completely free to do so.

Story line? What is that?

I half joke but at the same time I sort of agree with Radikal. The game absolutely caters to the people who want nothing more than to drive into crowds of pedestrians, beat a hooker to death after she performs a sex act, and recreate the D.C. Navy Yard shooting. This game simply would not be as popular if the story line didn't take the back seat to the free roaming aspect of it.

Unfortunately, I enjoy doing all the violent, misogynistic stuff the game avails, and I can in no way dispute Radikal's point.

Since you asked, you are not alone. I specifically stay away from this type of game. I have a hope people will gradually find they don't need this kind of game.

It's kind of like the TV show Dexter. Absolutely excellent show and I've seen every episode (my wife loves it) but each year, I have hoped it was the last year so I didn't have to feel guilty about watching it( this is the last season).

A) human bloodlust isn't going away.

B) Dexter has actually become a much more tame show over the years.  I can't even remember who he killed this season so far, if anyone.

I don't believe any of the missions require you to run over hookers....of course I'm not very far in yet.

I ran over a midget, dog, robbed a 7-11, killed a number of cops and innocent civilians just to run over a hooker... Damn they're hard to find. All kidding aside, Radikal I'd like to introduce you to something I call the real world. I know from time to time it can be scary... don't worry. By your rational you shouldn't be playing 95% of games out there as the "this game objectifies/ offends"  argument could be used for almost any title if you really look at it. And until they give me extra points, cheering section and band for everytime I do bust a cap in sum ho, I wouldn't consider it glorifying... the money I get doesn't count as it was mine to begin with

So your say its okay to have a game where you can have sex with women and beat them to death, it's fine to run over innocent people with a car? And you have no problem with it, because you don't engage in it and because it's a fanatasy or satire? I don't respect that. You buy you endorse it.
