LOL Sherb. My dad had a home made rig from an old AC machine, essentially a vacuum pump through an old 30lb(?) freon canister, never saw anything work better ever. You could completely replace the rear wheel cyclinders and "bleed" 'em done in like 2 minutes. Instant full pedal, and no pump pump pump.
Grrr, Mrs Knight has got the date for her nerve tests, now these need to be done ASAP as does any operation to repair the damage, the longer it takes the less effective the treatment. The appointment is for September!!!! It's very difficult to keep her positve, and hard to stay positive myself, but I have to for her sake (she does not read this so I can be honest here)...But very sucky
Guess I have to move out of the USA to get the simple tests I need to tell the surgeon what needs done. Nerve damage confirmed. Pain confirmed. Significant quality of life hit confirmed. Continuing nerve damage confirmed. Fucking inurance company dragging their heals on approving an MRI . We'll see how they like a great lawyer on their ass for many years to come if their decisions caused harm.
Wow Knight and Pyro sorry to hear that stuff! While we are bitching about healthcare stuff, my problem is nowhere as bad as either if yours but I've got a bitch anyway:
my doc changed my plaquenil prescription to name brand only. The generic, which I've taken for months now, only costs me $26 a month. The name brand costs me $128 a month! Wtf??? I called and told a nurse I can't afford that. She looked in my records, saw NO notation as to why he switched it from generic. She said she would do her best to get it switched back for me. (It's obviously not a problem with the pharmacy..the pharmacist was surprised by all this. So it's not like they can't get the generic or anything like that.)

Thanks for the sentiment but I think dealing with what you go through is a lot worse then my back hurting. I would just like to avoid a wheelchair and diapers if it all possible. I've always been a very active person so something like that situation means I get to eat a bullet. On the plus side my back is still tolerable when I'm up on my feet with stable earth beneath my feet which has uped my activity level significantly. Guess I'll be cutting grass all summer even when it doesn't need cut. Downside is the sit down job to pay the bills and send the daughter to school to learn a trade. Can't wait until she moves in with me end of May.
Start looking for another Dr. Doesn't mean change Drs, just get one in the bullpen to run some of this stuff by. Your Dr. trying to switch you to his facility for treatments and now specifying non-generic is starting to sound a bit off. Maybe he wants to go on a vacation and needs a Pharma kickback since he sunk his wad into that facility you mentioned.
Guys, I have a source of inflammation relief. I don't wanna talk business in here but I can probably help. Pyro, if you're serious about getting put in a wheelchair you should speak with my wife. She can set you up to get your own at wholesale, dropped at your doorstep.
I resist this in here, I don't want everyone running away cause I'm "that guy", but I don't want anyone having inflammation or pain issues.
So, IF anyone is in a situation where they have extreme or chronic inflammation, pain, etc, PM me and I will put you in touch with my wife (she's the smart one). And she doesn't read this so I can tell the truth in here...
Anyway, the weather here last weekend was soooo beautiful that we're told it'll snow tomorrow night....sigh....
We had great weather in cleveland oh over the weekend too. I was able to get way ahead on the spring cleanup and rebuilt the rotted platform for my natural gas grill. FRom near 80 on Sunday to 21 tuesday night and of course snow.
I believe it was 84 here today. In other news...have you tried Ben n Jerry's new Core ice creams? They will change your life. Just puttin it out there: THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. I don't even LIKE ice cream, and I'm pretty sure I'd start a revolution if they outlawed this stuff. I've tried the latest two flavors tonight. Holy crap, y'all.
THEY ARE. Unless I'm eatin wings, I'm a dainty princess when I eat. Excessive use of the napkin, tiny bites, etc. I eat these cores and I look down afterwards and I've somehow got ice cream on my knuckles and shirt, and of course, on my chin.
Just seen my name scroll by for a documentary I did last year, cool as fuck, usually getting a credit is rarer than rocking horse poop. Two cats taken to the vets for their yearly check and jabs, usually mayhem and blood but today went like a dream. Another job in for Monday not bad pay and another couple of gigs in. Sometime ago I posted a promo I was involved in producing for an Irish production company and thought it had sunk without trace...Not so, I hear it is still very much on the cards for a full scale production and I get to head up my own department...still not a done deal, but by no means dead in the water as I thought.
So hold off on that end of the world talk, I got stuff to do :)
...and just spell checked this post and all I missed was the capital m on Monday, a small triumph makes me happy.
Puttin' in time today and then a three day weekend!
Goin' out for a big dinner with the family tonight at quite possibly THE BEST Italian restaurant in the area for some chicken marsala ( haven't found better ANYWHERE!! ) and I been looking! Have to check the weather forecast but I think it's "brealk out the bikes" time around the homestead it is. Was absolutely beaitiful and blue yesterday!
Dunno if I told anyone but I got a promotion again back in March and THIS time instead of gaining the customary 10 lbs it seems I always gain, I'm down 10 pounds so far, 20 to go!
Oh, and the dog n I went to the vet last week, and a check and a few recommendations, small bottle of pills, and she's still wobbling around, a bit better than she was and doing well so far. So that's a check on the good list. It really is hard to lose a good dog, Lost one about 12 years ago and I still occcasionally stop and miss the damn dog. Getting soft in my old age I guess. Now mind you, I have a couple now I wouldn't miss so much...
*giggle*
Probably never had any help with the pump pump either...
I had almost no brakes on a car once it sure took a loooooooooong time to stop.

@ Sherb He has one! But for some reason, it didn't work on the 85 pickup last week. That truck is a thorn in my side lol

Many pharmacies will automatically go to the generic. Sounds like your doctor is getting a kick back.

I think just the higher elevations will get it here, but yeah, snow, bleah.
Was all shorts n sandals all weekend.
I cannot see any blobs of snow from my house. A few sizeable snow piles at mall parking lots but they are melting fast. Motor bikes are on the move.
Thank goodness.
Parking lot snow doesn't count. That can last into May...
Even calling for a little snow or mix tomorrow night in the D.C. area. Weird.
It's sunny and almost 60 here in the rainy state. WTF?

Did I kill the thread with my ice cream obsession? Sheesh. Where are y'all??
Question: do y'all have twitter and do you like it? I'm debating biting the bullet and becoming a twatwaffle. I mean twater. I mean tweeter.
Lalalala. I'm not listening....
I don't eat candy, very seldom cookies. But I do have a soft spot for ice cream...I'll have to keep my eyes open in the grocery store now.
My current go to: http://www.tillamook.com/products/ice-cream/marionberry-pie.html
Wtf is a marionberry? Is that a real thing??
Sounds like a Mayor?
It's a blackberry. I had to google it to be sure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marionberry

Very high winds, garbage/recycling day, several trips to curb, I hate my neighbors.
Martin O'Donnel fired from Bungie.
End of the world can't come soon enough.
