It doesn't say but a 15 yr old with a learners permit is perfectly legal with a licensed adult in the car. In some siuations, rural, a 15 yr old can drive if it's demonstrated that they are needed for farm work.

Some states allow you to get a training type license, Idaho is one of them. I was under the impression you couldn't drive at night with one of those until you were 16 so she probaby is still in some small violation.

I think the police are more interested in the idiot though, lol.   Poor kids.

A few weeks before 16th birthday they allow for the kids to start getting used to night driving, still requiring licensed adult.

I got my license at 14 in South Dakota, it was a learners permit but I could drive without an adult during the day and with one at night. No other restrictions. Not sure what the laws are in Montana where this accident took place.

It's a stipulation for the rural / farm life. The kids have to be able to help the farmers, it's the only way small farms can exist.

yeah, if you live on a farm in montana you can basically start driving around 12.  not at all unusual in the sticks where this happened.

in montana, some of the kids live so far from the school they go to it would be a 3 hour bus ride to and from school, so the kids drive themselves in to middle school after doing their morning chores.  like garfield county, has about 4900 square miles in the county and only 1200 residents.  that's 4 times more land area than rhode island.  the state just realizes the realities of farm and ranch life for the kids there and lets them start driving early (with a bunch of restrictions).

where this happened is up in the flathead valley, which is mostly cherry farms and cattle ranches, along with a bunch of rich-prick 4 million dollar houses on flathead lake.  very much in the sticks.

THAT is hilarious. Dumbass. "Alcohol may have been a factor"... no, REALLY?

Here in North Dakota 14 can drive, the restrictions are having a licensed driver with at least 3 years of experience in the car with you. After 16, all bets are off.

Is anyone else curious WHY he'd want to pretend to be Sasquatch?

I don't think he was drunk so much as mentally unstable.

......And can we send the girls after the guys in the picture TANK posted?

is it wrong of me to laugh and think "this deuche got exactly what he deserved.  at least he didn't take anyone innocently driving home with him, just the other knuckleheads in his car with him".

IRONIC CROOK NEWS
A New York man died while breaking into a gift shop in Brooklyn. The man was attempting to gain entry from the roof of the building when he caught his sweater on a piece of metal and strangled himself. The name of the store? "The Dum-Dum Boutique."
