Okay, well, constant respawning is not (yet) my idea of fun-ness, but...
So far, all I'm really doing here is "fishing" for some encouragement and advice. You all are proving good on both counts, so thanks a bunch. Mean it.
That said, I am not as "fraidy-cat" as I sound, and I will be joining in more and more as I learn the ways of multiplayer in the 21st century. Lots different than it was back in the Unreal Tournament days. What was that, like late 80s or early 90s? Yeesh.
Again, appreciate all the how-to chatter. I seriously even need help figuring out game lobbies, file shares, group forums...
Don't get us started on game lobbies...they SUCK and are NOTTTTTT user friendly!! *minor rant*
i have nights with the "group" where I play so bad it's no fun, and at that point I back out to play Match Making. Sometimes I'll grab a few people who are either as bad as me, or really good (and don't care how bad I am). I also find I play better with certain people than I do with others. I still haven't figured that out yet. I would also suggest two things: practice, and watching games in theater. Watch a game from someone else's point of view. See things they do that you don't, and vice versa.
There are sometimes boot camps held by some of the best players on the site. The game is still kind of new, its the holidays, etc...I'm HOPING eventually there will be at least one or two BCs *HINTTTTT HINTTTTTT FIRE AHEM* You can learn a lot, there are no stupid questions, and it's fun.
You can also ask questions here on the forum. Most people are nice, and the true jerkfaces get put in their place fairly quickly ;)
i agree with kitten thats what im looking for myself i am a member of tactical gaming and we have practices on wednesdays and sundays but so far no real help on improving my kd on call of duty hoping to get ,hooked up with cod players here who dont mind helping peeps out like me

I think he was just agreeing that you're bossy?? j/k I believe he plays both, but it was wierd to read that in the Halo thread. I know it's been a few days, but I had a lot of fun in the room I was in- thanks Lala- and Kahuna for the invite! I really enjoy getting to meet new peeps.

What time were you on last night? Do not be concerned about skill. Everyone has been very understanding about the Site Wide. "All skill levels" are welcome. :)
You do not have to do well in the game. A good attitude towards other people and you are set to go. A good number of people in my party are age 50 and over and are pretty laid back. I am amongst the worst players skill-wise.
As others have pointed out, SR# does not equate to raw skill. Knowledge, yes.

And for the record, Im only a SR 23 or so, k/d ratio hovers around 1 and I enjoy long walks on the beach and kittens. Oh yeah, and I need some people to play Halo with as everyone on my FL (with about 2 exceptions) play CoD and BF constantly.

I always set to online for events such as this. I also set offline a lot when Forging or Campaign. I.E. if I am online and also open party while forging and someone jumps in the room, I can't commit a save (glitches).
DEEP NNN — I jumped on a little before 7pm Mountain Time for a couple hours; I didn't join a party (the SR issue), ended up completing the weekly SpartanOps challenges and taking my first look at the Forge playground. I do have some nice commendations progress and a "blank slate" Ragnarok to show for it.
Also, shout out to Squatterbag and HackUberGeek for those out-of-the-blue FRs last night. I recognize your GTs from here, and see that you are friends with my only "meatspace" friend who also plays ( Scotty STC ). Look forward to connecting with you in a WarGames lobby soon.

Just put some variant of "2o2p, 2old2playHalo, etc" in your Xbox Live bio so people know you're from this site and not some random squid from the great unwashed masses.

I guess we'll have to run some kind of test. I should be showing online. Normally my FL members can see me but I'll check my account settings in case something ain't quite correct.
Played for a couple of hours on Thursday had a great time, thanks Deep. I can't remember for sure if it showed you online Deep, I just sent a message from Xbox Dashboard and received a reply but went into H4 and lost the message. So I think the best thing is to get to H4 Menu then send message. Nova Henge Map is really cool. I enjoyed playing with and against you all. I don't believe that the SR reflects true skill either, I ranked up b/c I did the daily/weekly and monthly challenges...I just wanted to get the 5 loadouts to mix things up a bit. I am on the FoF Halo List and Over 40 so anyone can send me a message too if you want to game. I am up for pretty much any public match or if you want to do customs to work out any kinks or to learn new things I can do that too. I am new to all this too so we can just figure things out as we go along. Thanks and take care.
Dont know if many people will remember me but i played on the Halo Reach clan back when the game was fun and i got burned out and left playing xbox for a while. I forgot my password for my old account and had to make another one, but my GT is still Clayi3orne. For some reason my email @ comcast will not get ne messages and i cant figure out why. I posted in the new in town, but sincve i have been in a few clans on here before i just wanted to say hello here also and to ask if anyone that wants to play some games to shoot me a FR. I still play with a few members and have talked with them about the community and i wanted to come and play on those amazing community nights and hopefully if it is happening this time around maybe get in on the clan side of things. Well good to see everyone that i remember on reach and to all the new people that i havent met. Hello. Hope to see you all on H4 and ill return to update and comment back on this post. Thanks!
