We're on the precipice of the Forza Horizon launch and what will almost certainly become an obnoxious shitstorm perpetuated by people who wear racing shoes while playing console simulator racing games. They'll complain about the "physics" and how it isn't "real" enough for them.
These are the same people who ruin the experience of racing video games by decrying the lack of purity, that shove their lap times in your face, and see a mid-race crash as some sort of affront to all that is right and holy.
Well, guess what, no one gives a fuck how fast you are in Gran Turismo, Forza, or any other racing game. The joy of racing, like the joy of car culture, is something that's strongest when it's shared, and it's competitive assholes like you that ruin the shared environment.

What I took from it in particular is the philosophy that I try to create here. Being fast is nice if that's what your after, but it's not what keeps me coming back. It's the fun. & when people lose sight of that, then what's the point.

The people add the playablility factor after the AI competition wears thins. If I was concerned about winning I would never have continued. I don't stand a chance of beating many racers

Beating most of you in the water is enough for me. Not because I'm faster but that because you guys/gals are too scared to get into a speedo.

well i am on same opinion as cotter...it should be fun its nice to be competitive to some level but it shouldnt be the most important part of why we race. i raced with you guys cuz i like the humor the joking and it would be nice to finish not last hahaha but then again i am in it for the fun. suck as driver but i am having a blast and i will have a blast again once i got forza on my own...now i just play at a friends house each time during the day and or evening.
Other people are scared of me in a speedo...it's kinda like my driving.

Love the article, particularly the message it was trying to convey. Chill baby chill, there are sims, simcade and arcade racing games. Accept each for what they are and enjoy them!
I was showing the game off to a friend and fellow car enthusiast and he primarily wanted to see and drive the monster cars and the Mustangs. I let him play around for a whiie then Ishowed him how much fun a "slower" car can be. He went away impressed I think.
