I got the IB rocket launcher Radegast's Fury. Was told to roll it to include "Grenades and Horseshoes" (instead of tracking) for the Crucible. So I did. The roll included the "Clown Cartridge" perk as well, which fits.. Actually, the Clown perk works about half the time you get ammo, giving you a 5th rocket.
When using a rocket launcher, I had always used a tracker in the Crucible before... So, I was skeptical of the non-tracking Grenades and Horseshoes perk. After running two characters to 5 in IB, I'm now a big believer. Just send the rocket on a trajectory that takes it close to the opponent. If he ducks in behind a wall or doorframe while the rocket is on its way, it'll pass by where he was and will detonate if he's close enough. Works great. A tracker would track him when he goes behind cover and then just impact against the wall, causing no damage. You can also thread a narrow space with the rocket if you know your opponents are near that path, and the rocket will thread the needle. I've gotten triple kills that way. I used one of my Etheric lights to take it to 365 for IB, where leveling matters.
Now, the reason that works so well is because of the massive blast radius. Where Radegast's and Ash Factor get the kill, the Trials rocket launcher won't.
The main perks I wanted on my Ash Factory that I use in Crucible were Grenades and Horseshoes, Javelin (more velocity) and Clown Cartridge.
I preferred Clown Cartridge over Tripod (launcher holds 3 shells) becuase the Ash Factory only holds one rocket so you'll be reloading after every shot, thus increasing your chances of getting an extra rocket. Most times I get at least one extra rocket - assuming I stay alive...lol
Lord Saladbar is back in the Tower, time for one last IB before TTK.
Also, if Bungie hasn't trolled us enough by selling Ghorn weeks before the nerf and confirming it won't be upgraded to "year 2", Bungie has included Felwinter's Lie with a VERY good roll (just in time for the shotgun nerf...lol) as a purchasable weapon.
I'll probably end up playing, but since Etheric Light seems like it will be useless moving forward, I don't see the point in grinding.

Yea I was playing last night and my son came in inquired why was I playing Iron Banner and informed me the update was going to make all the stuff meaningless. Probably like Late get to level 4 grab a e lite and this version of felwinter.
Thanks for the info. about Radegast's fury, Minotaur. I have two of them, with one having the Grenades and Horshoes perk. Sounds like they're keepers!

I got my warlock and titan to level 5 and got my 4 etheric lights. Had fun up to the second character from lvl 3 to 5 then it was just grinding!
Ooh, gonna reforge an Ash Factory and try this out....
You want the same perks that are on that Trials rocket launcher if you reroll.

The way I see it, if you're reloading, you're not shooting. Tripod is better.
True enough. However, when you are out of rockets, my clown cartridge will have allowed me to keep shooting those 1-3 extra rocket(s).

Just planning to run one character up to 4 to get an etheric light, a pair of boots for my Warlock and a Felwinters.
Don't forget, current level, weapons and armour all go into your new TTK level.
The more weapons and armour you have maxed out, the better.
That being said, I too am being a bit more laid back for the next 2.5 weeks.
